ATS Inhibit
• Security feature
• Locks out all transfer operations
• Emergency source will be started, but no transfer takes place
• Configurable via LogicsManager
• In cabinets used in combination with an “Inhibit switch”

22 | © WOODWARD, INC.
Limit switch Monitoring (plausibility check)

• Limit switch monitoring evaluates the ATS limit switch replies and checks them
after limit switch failure delay time for plausibility
• If the replies are not plausible, the "Actual" and "Expected" replies are displayed
• Meanwhile, the status of the breaker replies cannot be reset with the Reset
button and all further transfers are inhibited

23 | © WOODWARD, INC.
In-phase monitoring (sync check)

• Available for all transfer switch types

• Checks phase angle and Voltage/Frequency difference to ensure a transfer into
the other source occurs within a phase angle difference of 7° or less.
• User programmable outcome conditions if In-Phase monitoring fails.
• User programmable setpoint windows for voltage and frequency difference.
• Transfer switch reaction time is adjustable

24 | © WOODWARD, INC.
Max parallel time <100ms
• Tests showed that smallest max.
parallel time is between 40 and
50ms

• With breaker closing time 50ms a

max. parallel time of 92ms has
been verified

• For this reason, to reach max.

parallel time of 100ms, the
breaker closing time needs to be
max. 50ms

25 | © WOODWARD, INC.
Extended parallel time for softloading application
• Only available for Closed transition operation

• Transfer switch can stay parallel as long the customer wishes it to do.

Load shed
• Capability for initiate a load circuit disconnection form the
non-preferred source.
• A re-transfer to the prioritized source is performed if
preferred source is available.
• If preferred source is not available, a transfer to
the neutral position will be initiated
• Once transferred to the preferred source and this source
fails, a transfer to the emergency source is blocked. Only a
transfer to the neutral position takes place.
• Configurable via LogicsManager

33 | © WOODWARD, INC.
Load Test
• Initiates an engine start and performs a transfer to the
• non-preferred source.
• Can be initiated via the tactile keys on the frontfoil
• Can also be initiated by using a discrete input.
