LESSON PLAN

LESSON TITLE: ROLE OF BPAT IN ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

I. OBJECTIVE:

As BPAT members of the community, participants would be able:

a. To gain knowledge and heighten the awareness as leaders/advocates in laws and


regulations pertaining to the environment and natural resources.

b. To acquire practical skills and proper techniques and approaches to help stop
environmental abuses, reverse ecological degradation, conserving the remaining
natural resources and ensure that they benefit the community.

c. To mobilize the BPAT members in protecting, conserving and managing the


environment and natural resources.

II. SUBJECT MATTER and PROCEDURES:

Role of BPAT in Environmental Protection

a. Its definition, objectives, stages, challenges and approaches.

b. Motivation:
Video Presentation of Model Barangay

c. Discussion would revolve on the following:

 Knowledge and capacities developed by governments, professional and


environmental organizations, community and individual

 Program of action that is carried out within the context of environmental


protection
and aims to build the capacities needed to enforce the law to increase rates of detection, arrest,
prosecution and conviction of violators of environmental laws, rules and regulations.

 Community participation in the protection and management of natural resources


and
due respect is accorded to culture, indigenous knowledge and local customs.

 LGUs support for legal and budgetary capacities.
