One day, Henry and Larry set off for a journey. They were walking
through a forest when they saw a bear. Larry was very frightened. ‘I have
seen this bear before. It killed a man a few months ago,’ he said and
jumped up a tree quickly.

‘Larry, I don’t know how to climb trees. Can you help me?’ Henry
asked. However, the bear was coming towards them so Larry ignored his
friend.

Henry was smart. He thought to himself, ‘Although I have not met a

bear before, I know that bears do not touch the dead. I can pretend to be
dead so that it won’t eat me.’ He quickly lay on the ground and held his
10 breath. Surprisingly, the bear did not hurt Henry. It only smelled his body
and then walked away.

After a while, Larry jumped down from the tree. ‘Did the bear whisper
something in your ear?’ he asked. Henry said, ‘Yes, my friend. It advised
me to beware of friends like you.’
