Nowadays, education plays an essential role in the growth of a nation.

There is a
common belief that science subjects at school need more financial support from the
government than others for the development of the country. I disagree with that
notion; however, I think that the investment in other subjects should be considered.

On the one hand, I’m in favour of the idea that the government’s funding in
science education is vital with a view to progressing the country because of the
benefits it brings about. First, it creates a well-trained workforce dedicating to the
science industry and to the country. That science subjects are focused on means
students at schools will pay more attention on those subjects, which may form their
personalities of intelligence and creativity and train professional scientific
employees. Take, for example, doctors, biologist, researchers, physicists, chemists.
Moreover, students who are specialized in science can make contributions to the
development of many fields such as medicine, technology, engineering. For
instance, during the Covid 19 epidemic, Vietnamese researchers conducted a
variety of scientific research and finally discovered vaccines to fight against the
virus and bring about the economic recovery.

On the other hand, I also support the idea that non-scientific education should
receive financial support from the government. It helps to create a specialized
social workforce, with many talented people such as journalists, artists, musicians
and lawyers. If not having balanced funding in both aspects, it can lead to an
imbalance in the labor force, which has negative impact on the economic growth.
Furthermore, the investment in other subjects also cause a nation to develop in
different fields because each of them also play an important role as an industry of
the country. For example, in terms of art and music, Korea is known as a country
with many famous K-pop idols, which is a strong emerging wave and has become
a prominent industry of Korea with tremendous profits.

In conclusion, I think that government should pay balanced financial attention on

both science education and other subjects because it can cause the country progress
in various aspects.
