49TH NATIONAL SAFETY WEEK CELEBRATION AT

POWERGRID JABALPUR
• 49th National safety day was celebrated at POWERGRID 400 kV
Substation and 765/400 kV Pooling substation Jabalpur on 4th March-
2020.

• From 4th March to 11th March-2020, 49th National Safety Week was
celebrated at POWERGRID 400 kV Substation and 765/400 kV Pooling
substation Jabalpur.
EVENTS ORGANIZED AT POWERGRID JABALPUR
DURING NATIONAL SAFETY WEEK-2020
• Following programs were organized at POWERGRID Jabalpur during National Safety Week-2020.
a. Safety pledge on 04.03.2020.
b. “Essay and Slogan” competition for Employees- Topic- “Health and Safety at Workplace” on 05.03.2020.
Around 25 nos. of employee were participated.
c. Quiz competition on “Safety” for Women of the Township on 06.03.2020. Around 20 women were
participated.
d. Drawing and painting competition for the Children of the Campus/Township on 07.03.2020. Around 21
children were participated.
e. Substation specific safety training on “Snake bite” was imparted to the Contract workers and Security
Guards on 09.03.2020. Around 45 people were participated.
f. Fire drill (mock drill)- demonstration of using of fire extinguisher on 09.03.2020.
g. Closing ceremony was conducted on 11.03.2020.- Prize/Gift/Memento distributed to all participants.

TRAINING PROGRAM ON SNAKE BITE AT JABALPUR-PS ON
09TH MARCH-2020
• Since JBP-PS substation is situated in a place where Snakes are very frequently seen in the
yard/premises of the substation and hence to spread the awareness about the safety from and of
snakes a training program on Snake bite was organised at 765/400 KV Jabalpur-PS Substation on
09-Mar-2020.
• Around 45 people (all employees including contract personnel and security guards) were
attended the program.
• Training was imparted by Sh. Manish Kulshrestha, wild animals rescue expert and his team.
GLIMPSE OF THE TRAINING

Following major points were covered during the training:


a. Varity of snakes species found in this particular area.
b. Out of them how may are poisonous.
c. How to identify the poisonous snakes.
d. Symptoms of poisonous snake bite.
e. Fist aid in case of snake bite.
f. Do’s and Don'ts in case of snake bite.
g. Precautions which have to be taken while working in yard.
h. Equipments and Demonstration of equipment's used in snake catching etc.
