Moral Education Summer Vacation Homework

Dear students,

As a UAE resident, you might have noticed there is a movement to reduce the use of plastic bags and
replacing them with recyclable ones. This movement has come into action after realising that many
sea animals get entangled or stuck in plastic, causing some of them to lose their fins or tales and
become unable to find food, an easy victim to predators or endangered.

Since you’ve learned about responsibility, show how your responsible acts towards the environment
can make a difference. Make an interesting and amazing portfolio containing the following contents
given below. You can use any form of media to submit the portfolio. You may submit a hard form of
the portfolio and submit a scrap book/ folder when you return to school after the winter break or you
may submit a presentation with pictures and video clips attached to it. You may also submit your
portfolio in the form of a video.

Please remember the portfolio will be graded out of 50 MARKS; the marks would be then
added to your final result for this term.

Follow the given table of contents below (kindly note that leaving any of these points out
will affect your mark):

➢ Think of a title for your portfolio.

➢ Do research about one or two events showing how plastic have had a negative effect
on sea animals.
➢ Reflect on your daily practices and how you are keen to reduce using plastic to save
your environment.
➢ Evidence of how you adopt those daily practices and how you have encouraged others
to follow some of them. Adding a photo or any other type of evidence to your story
will strengthen it (could be some photos of some plastic bottles you’ve recycled,
cleaning up the beach, etc…).
➢ What you would do in future to ensure some of the best practices are consistently
applied to your life.
