1. SCOPE
This manual describes the procedures for installing the optional 64-slice system kit for whole-body
X-ray CT scanner Aquilion 32 (TSX-101A).

An option license can be handled by saving it to a 3.5-inch floppy disk or as a key code. Usually, a
3.5-inch floppy disk is used for shipment.
Use the window shown in figure 1 below which is displayed by selecting [[Utility]] → [[Engineering]],
entering the password, and then selecting [[Option License]].

Insert the floppy disk in the drive and select [[Media check]].
The window shown in figure 2 is displayed, showing the option name in the License Name
column.
At this time, if the license is not available, "----" is displayed in the UNIQUE ID field.
The license name is "SCAN64ROW".

The window shown in figure 3 is displayed, indicating that the license is available in the
system.
Use the method described in (1) to confirm that the UNIQUE ID is on the disk.
This work must be performed for both the S-CON and D-CON.

In the case where the license for the D-console is incorrectly applied to the S-console, etc.,
the license can be returned to the disk. Place the corresponding disk in the system in which
the license was incorrectly applied and then select [[Unload license]]. After operation is
completed, use the method described in (1) to check the disk and confirm that "----" is
displayed in the UNIQUE ID field.

When [[List]] is selected in the window shown in figure 1, the window shown in figure 4 is
displayed. In this window, licenses that have already been made available and licenses that
have not been made available can be checked.
Although the license status can also be checked by selecting [[Utility]] → [[Option]] →
[[License List]], this method displays only licenses that have already been made available.

(6) Perform RDD setup at the S-CON. Select "Restore configuration file from RDD" and "Write
FC, PRE and REC params to RDD".

(7) After initialization is completed, reboot the system and acquire calibration data for 64-slice
acquisition using the calibration data acquisition function.
After the setting procedures up to those described in subsection 3.4 are completed, perform
operational checks.
(1) Select an eXam Plan. Confirm that 64-slice acquisition (0.5 × 64) can be selected for a
helical scan.
Attach the model label of this option kit at a location near the system model label on the gantry.
