PART A

1. (a)
In order to get messages conveyed effectively, firstly we must understand what our
message is,who we are sending it to,and how it will be perceived. We must also be
able to carefully consider the circumstances surrounding our communication such as
situation, context ,culture, and whether it is formal or informal.
Sometimes, people may not responding to our communication for the following
reasons.
(a) Their own poor writing skills ( for example ,language deficiencies) .
(b) Too much information in the text/message.
(c) Too many grammatical errors and mistakes.
(d) Barriers between the sender and receiver (cultural, status, role)
(e) Message is not clear or precise.
(f) Wrong choice of delivery channel/format.
(g) Past experiences (example is treatment received).
(h) Documents not structured, messy or not laid out well.

As stated in the above situation, the superior faces problems such as obstacles between the
sender and the receiver that can cause communication to fail. In this situation, it may be lack
of attention, distraction, interest or irrelevance by superiors to respond back. For example,
due to a lot of daily routine work from superiors and they may fail to see the information sent
by sender.Apart from this, the wrong choices of delivery channel or format may lead to failure
of communication. The superior decided to explain by orally to the sender .It is because oral
communications are very useful when the superior wants to respond back by giving detailed
explanation. Senior superiors with high credibility usually deliver complex or disturbing
messages. For example, a superior will usually announce plans to downsize during a meeting
so that everyone gets the same message at the same time. This will often include a schedule
or a timeline so people know when to expect more details.Furthermore,it will be so helpful to
everyone,if the respond orally in meetings .Such as, it will also be useful for other colleagues
who want to make better changes in the future. Because of this, maybe the superiors make a
choice to give clarity to everyone in a time. Therefore, the superior fail to respond to the
sender (myself) and may give his opinion to everyone but not only for me.Lastly, the Superior
may in past experinces. For example, the superior was involved in an accident or contracted a
disease. Because of that, the party could not see the message that was sent and it caused the
recipient to not be able to respond back to the message that was sent.

1(b)

If a channel of communication is blocked or never respond ,we need to pause a

momment, and re-evaluate the situation. Here,we need to find out where things have gone
wrong. One way to start doing this is by posing question to ourself. For example, where did it
go wrong, why was the message not understood or misinterpreted by the receiver?,was the
timing bad,did I use the correct channel to deliver the message?,and were there many errors
or mistakes in the document?.Those answers for this questions may shed some light on where
the communication had gone wrong. In order to make it easy for others to understand our
communication and respond accordingly,we should makesure that provide some clues such as
a clear indication of purpose, accurate and objective information, appropriate headings and
sub-headings,asuitable order of information, concise and precise instructions and desired
action clearly spelled out. Therefore, upon receiving the written communication or report, the
reader should understand the contents of the report clearly;know pricely what action needs to
be taken;how to do it;and in what manner it should be done.

2 (a)

Writing a good essays is more than just merely making sure the grammar and vocabulary
used are correct. There are many writing strategies to complete a good essays. Most of people,
prefer to write an essay with key points as they come to their minds and try to rearrange them
later into something acceptable, some write the essay straight away, while some may find it
easier to work by coming up with some sort of visual mind map or outline to develope their
thinking. Basically there are four stages involved in essay writing. There are Pre-
writing,Draft,Editing and final draft or essay.

Pre-writing stage

In this stage we need to thinkabout the essay topic, then gather information and scribble our
ideas related to it,putting this down in the form of bulleted list, mind map, outline and
others. For example, there are few ways of putting our thoughts and ideas before writing a
complete essay like circles connected with arrows, sequenced andnumbered outline and map
type essay plan.

Drafting stage

Different people adopt different strategies at this stage. We can come up with an outline and
stick closely to this,or begin with section we are most comfortable with.Alternatively,we can
just start writing without a plan.As a biginner,it is always a good to have an outline or a plan
for our essay. An essay outline might involve the following.

Paragraph 1 –Introduction

Paragraph 2- Point (a)

Paragraph 3- Point (b)

Paragraph 4- Point (c)

Paragraph 5- Point (d)

Paragraph 6 –Point (e)

Paragraph 7-Conclusion /Summary

Editing stage

After we have finished writing our essay draft, the next step is to reread the essay and edit
it.At this stage,we needto check the accuracy of content, clarity of
expression, grammar, vocabulary and other aspects such as spelling ,puntuation, format and
more.

Final Draft Stage

The final stage is to rewrite our final essay neatly.Remember to check that the format used is
correct. It is always good to keep our annotated draft next to us for essay reference.
2(b)

Therefore, there are few important reason to use some stages in writing essay such as reduce
anxiety and stress, increase the quality of essays and we can learn more. By knowing that we
have a series of separate steps we can follow that break the intimidating task of "WRITING"
down into manageable parts, we will feel much less anxiety and struggle in writing. For
example, if we have already generated ideas (Step 1) thoroughly and then organized them
well (Step 2) into a logical outline, actually writing your first draft will be much easier. By
focusing on each distinct step individually, we can do each better, increasing the ultimate
quality of your final product.  The sum will be greater than the parts. (And reducing your
anxiety can also only help with quality or maybe we think some anxiety is good; it means you
care, after all, and maybe we will see yourself has a person who performs better under
pressure. Moreover, our anxiety when writing will probably never completely disappear; we
just want to keep it at a manageable and less inhibitive level.) Students and other writers
often think of writing mainly in terms of producing a product for a reader that shows what
you already know or believe. However, writing itself is or can be, when approached in the
right way. It is not a big problem if we not producing great essays at this point as we will
focus on each part of the essay in greater detail in topics to come. At this stage, it is good if
we practice the four steps in essay planning such as pre-writing, draft, editing and final draft.
It is also good to know the outline of a basic essay.
PART B

1.According to Margaret Fleming (1988), there are three stages of collaborative writings that
we need to consider as we organise, plan and write a research paper. These stages are
invention stage, revision stage and drafting stage. Firstly, the invention stage is very
important on collaborative writing because on this stage myself as a learner are engaged in
preliminary discussions of ideas and approaches using the following strategies. Such as, note-
sharing and preliminary debating. In the note- sharing strategy, I as a learner brainstorm
about the topics by sharing notes. So, we can trade materials with others. On the other hand, I
might use the preliminary strategy debate on an idea or a topic as preparation for writing
papers. Collaborative research has become more prevalent globally over the past 50 years and
researchers are increasingly required to work across disciplines, institutions and borders.
There are some information to learn how collaborating research writing efficiently can help
advance my research and my career. Collaborative research writing is inevitably associated
with challenges that you might not experience with an individual research project. However,
they can also offer many benefits. Here are just some of the ways in which collaborations can
benefit my research and my career. Firstly by engage in collaborative research writing, I can
maximise the outputs. By combining expertise and resources I can answer bigger and more
complex scientific questions and expand the breadth of my research. Apart from this, we can
maximise the impact. Research shows a positive correlation between collaborative papers
and a high level of citations. For example, in one analysis of 28 million papers from the
humanities and the natural, medical, and social sciences published between 1900 and 2011,
papers with more authors received more citations, particularly if the authors were from
different institutions. Attract funding can generate the outputs that have an impact on policy,
practice, industry, or the general public can increase your chances of getting funded. In
addition, some funding bodies now give priority to international and industry-academia
collaborations. For example, the EU Commission’s Horizon 2020 program, which offered
nearly 80 billion Euros of funding between 2014 and 2020 for research projects tackling
societal challenges, prioritized collaborative projects. Moreover, by engage in collaborative
research writing we can expand our network. Working collaboratively can help us to meet
potential future employers, mentors, and collaborators. Futhermore, it also embrace the new
things. Participate collaborative in research writing are opportunities to learn new skills,
make new friends, gain a new perspective, and join stimulating discussions and with experts
in your field or complementary fields. By combining and sharing of multiple resources can
capable to make a good writing skills and can complete the research or could done the task
before the due-date. Finally, there are more technology advances in collecting data and info
with collaboratively. Therefore, we can learn varieties of info about the researches with many
ideas with more working mates.

Working from home can be very beneficial

There are many reasons for people to work in their homes. Working in the home will avoid
morning rush, save our time, save our money, increase competitiveness among markets, make
us more energetic, productive and cheerful at work. When we are thinking of changing our job
or currently looking for a new job, these benefits have to be taken into consideration as working
close to home or in the home will make people’s life much easier. Some may I argue the
majority of employees should change their work place from office to home. In my opinion,
the benefits of working from home can benefit more to people around us. It is undeniable
that, working from home can save transportation cost, a condusive working environment at
home and can spend more time with family.

Firstly, Work from home is a lot more comfortable for lots of people. Employees can save a
great deal of time and money since they do not have to travel so often, which means people
will have more time for work and for themselves, too. Less travelling will also help reduce
traffic congestion and environmental pollution. Besides, working at home does not mean
staying inside all day long, people can choose to work in their garden or backyard, wherever
makes them feel convenient to work. Moreover, employees are under less stresses stress with
a flexible working schedule.

Apart from this, we can spend more time with our loves one. In materialistic lifestyle, we did
not have time to spend with our family due to the working pressure and addition working
hours at offices. Working from home can help us to spend time with them while working. We
have oppurtunities to fulfil their needy and take care of them well. For example, we can talk
to them, cooking for the, playing with kids and more. Furthermore, we can heal from the
stress. In working places we may faces many problems and its brings to full of pressure life.
But by working in home we can feel the real relaxation and avoid the presureness. It was a
very condusive working environment at home.
Therefore, I argue that working from home did not people make lazy but it is so beneficial
working from home.
