Product introduction of SLMC board and product phase out of SLC24 board for OpenScape
4000 - Update

For the following boards/components of OpenScape 4000 the phase out has been started in all direct
and indirect sales channels:
 SLC24 board to connect DECT base stations to OpenScape 4000

As successor for the above mentioned product the SLMC board is available. All restrictions and
enhancements will be described in this sales circular.

Successor product

The SLC24 board cannot be offered anymore after 6th of June 2017. As successor the new board
SLMC (L30220-Y600-A359) has to be offered. This change will be done in the configuration tool ESC
automatically. SLMC provides beside the SLC24 functionality in addition Intersystem Synchronization
ISS V2 (and the SLCSS sub-board is not needed anymore).

It has to be mentioned that BS3 is no longer supported by SLMC board!

The new SLMC board will be released for OpenScape 4000 V7R2 and V8R0. SLMC will not be
released for HiPath 4000 V6, which will reach EoL in August 2017.

Restriction:
The new SLMC board today only offers support for cable lengths between board and base
station up to 800 meters. In case a customer needs longer cables between BS4/5 and SLMC, the
SLMC cannot be used at the moment. Please contact product management in case your
customer needs such long cables.
The removal of this restriction will be communicated in a separate sales circular.

 The following dates were decided:

Offer release for SLMC

Release for offers in ESC with the SLMC board is done on 6th of June 2017.

Order release for SLMC (M2)

Release for orders with the SLMC board is done on 08th of August 2017.

Product release (M3) for SLMC

Release for delivery of the SLMC boards is done on 08th of August 2017.

Offer stop for the product (M43)
Beginning 6th of June the SLC24 board cannot be offered anymore. Existing offers are not affected.
Successor is the SLMC board.

End of SW support (M44)

For end of SW and HW support the M44 milestones of OpenScape 4000 and OpenScape Cordless E
versions are relevant.

Order stop for Extensions (M45)

Beginning 6th of June the SLC24 board cannot be offered anymore O for extensions. Extensions can
be done with SLMC board starting with OS4k V7 R2.x. and V8R0.

As long as SLC24 boards are available, SLC24 orders will be fulfilled with SLC24, afterwards orders
are changed to the SLMC board.

End of all product activities (M5)

End of all product activities for the SLC24 board is reached with M47 (end of spare parts), which is
planned for 01/18. Defect SLC24 will be replaced by SLMC boards in case SLC24 is no longer
available.

 Requirements to the Sales Organization
 With this sales circular we recommend to offer SLMC boards only for OpenScape Cordless E V7.
 Running offers should be switched to SLMC boards. In any offer the new SLMC board and its
benefits should be mentioned.
 Delivery obligations that could not be covered with the new SLMC board should be brought to the
attention of product management by the sales organization.
 After the introduction of SLMC a board conversion program will be established to exchange SLC24
by SLMC and send back the SLC24 boards against a special payment. Details will be described in a
separate circular of the SLMC board.
