Subject: Item 50429

Dear Ms. Pinker,

The new Web site is a huge success. Since it launched last week, we’ve already received a high
number of orders.

However, I am writing to report an error. It is related to item 50429, which is a soap box with
handmade soap in it. The item description says that the soap’s scent is coconut when it is in
fact vanilla. This is the only error I’ve found so far. Two customers have already complained
about this. I’ve sent them each a free bar of soap, and thankfully, we haven’t gotten any
negative reviews yet.

To avoid further complaints, please correct this error as soon as possible. Thank you very
much.

Sincerely,
Francis Marcel,
Team Manager, Ruby Gifts Co.

Subject: Move Request

Hello,

A friend of mine recently used your services, and recommended your company. I would
like to reserve a date for a move. I’ll be needing the medium-distance service. I am a small
entrepreneur, and I will be moving my office into a slightly larger space, from 65 Maryland
Avenue in Melville to 335 Chestnut Street in Fairfield.

There aren't many items to be moved, so one truck should be sufficient. The only
cumbersome piece of furniture is a rather large filing cabinet. I don’t think it will be difficult to
handle, however, as both apartments are located on the first floor and are easy to access.

The best dates for me are Tuesday, August 9 or Monday August 15. I have a slight preference
for mornings, but I am flexible. Please call me to choose an exact time. My number is 323-555-

I look forward to hearing from you.

HOME | HIKING PATHS | DIRECTIONS | CONTACT

Willow Woods features the following hiking trails. Please read the descriptions carefully before
going on a hike.

Cedar Path - Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆

This is a mostly flat circuit that takes about an hour to complete. It is particularly enjoyable in
the spring because of the numerous wildflowers that grow around this path.

Marsh Creek - Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

The difficulty is not much higher than Cedar Path’s, but we give it two stars due to the length.
The hike is a pleasant three-hour walk along the creek, and it is stunning in the winter, when
the water freezes over.

Weeping Waterfall - Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

As its name indicates, this hike’s highlight is a waterfall. The hike takes 5 hours. This path is
closed in the spring due to the melting snow and muddy terrain.

Raven’s Peak - Difficulty: ★★★★☆

This circuit is reserved for seasoned hikers as it features narrow passages along steep edges
and takes 7 to 9 hours to complete. However, your efforts will be rewarded once you reach the
top with a gorgeous view of the valley. We especially recommend this trail in the fall, before
its annual closure at the beginning of winter.

NOTICE
We are sorry to inform you that this hiking path is closed for the season and will reopen at the
beginning of summer. To check in advance which paths are open for each season, visit our Web
site at www.willowwoodspark.com. For a map of accessible hiking trails, please see the sign posted
outside the visitors’ center.

Note that a new family-friendly trail called Eagle’s Flight was recently opened. It takes longer than
Cedar Path to complete but is shorter than Marsh Creek. For more information, speak to one of
our rangers, who are available to assist you inside the center. They can recommend trails, answer
questions about the wildlife, and recommend gear to bring with you on your hike.

Don’t forget to stop by the visitors’ center gift shop, which offers hiking gear at low prices and
souvenirs. The profits from the store go to maintaining Willow Woods Park.

Rickers Law Firm Proposal for Position

Name of Requester: Phillip Grove Department: Accounting

Brief job description:

File sorting, data entry, database maintenance, copying services

Reason for the need:

With the recent expansion of the company, the department’s work has increased greatly.
Our accountants have large amounts of paperwork to do, and it seems that they are often
losing time doing the tasks listed above.

Justification of qualifications:
The position would not entail any difficult task, so an advanced degree and experience are
not necessary. However, an error can have serious consequences, so knowledge of the field
of finance and familiarity with the various terms used in the accounting world is necessary.
This is why I believe only someone who has completed a full degree would be trustworthy.
