Part 3: Personal Challenge


Considering your responses in Part 1 and 2, use the steps below to create a personal challenge.
Choose

Choose one digital habit you want to change or to try to do differently. Why is it important that you
change this habit?

One digital habit that I want to change is that I would focus on my spiritual relationship with God
and relationship with my family. It is important because I feel like I have been more focused on my
friends than them. It would also be nice if I focused on my schoolwork more often than before since
it’s a new different surrounding and that I have to adapt into it and maybe learn some new things
while I’m in that path.

Challenge

Challenge yourself. Make a plan for how you would like to change your habit. Consider when you
will do something different and what you can do instead. (When we're trying to change a habit, it's
not enough just to say what we won't do. We also have to come up with something to do instead!)

Instead of focusing on myself maybe I could play games with my siblings because it maybe one way
to connect with them. It would also be good if I would give them some attention since we wouldn’t
have any time like this empty in previous years of my high school life.

Boost

Boost your challenge. What are some ways you can give your new habit a "boost" and make it easier
to do? If you're trying to break a bad habit, what are some things you can do so that you don't slip
back into old ways?

Maybe I would get into self-care which would include some healing days since I have been on to
social media and kind of been in that same place of others that wants to be like someone. I would
also try and focus on my mental and physical health which most of the time I have been neglecting
on ever since because I have focused on the schoolwork and some friends who needed support.

Reflection

Time to share. Say something about what you learned for today and how this discussion helped you.

I learned that not all of my life could revolve in the social media world where everybody wants love and
sometimes gets hate. It’s something that we created in a way that we also kind of made it ruin us and have
different possible endings in life that we sometimes would never see. Sometimes we just have to ignore
what’s happening with famous celebrities or the people we admire we could just take our minds in an open
space and focus on the more deeper side of the picture in our world.
