My Digital Habits
NAME
What are your current digital habits? (Keep in mind: Habits can be positive, negative, or both.
Brainstorm and list as many of your habits as you can.)
- waking up and srolling through instagram and facebook
- watching youtube videos while eating
- staying in discord with friends in the majority or the day
- playing games and having fun with friends through steam
- getting stuck and using majority of time to scroll videos in facebook
- playing ps4 with friends
- before sleeping, I watch youtube until I get sleepy
- keeping up new videos with my subscribed channels
- when my parents says to me that to stop playing, I usually just say “hm” then I’ll get back to playing until
they say it again
- listening to spotify when doing things in my laptop
- watching shows and kdramas with friends through netflix party

GRADE 9: MY DIGITAL LIFE IS LIKE ... NAME
Choose one digital habit you want to change or to try to do differently. Why is it important that you
change this habit?
I would want to change the habit of when I am eating that I would not watch youtube. This is
important because even though that I have entertainment during this time when im eating, my
family’s like tradition is to eat without using anything else and just focus on the food because when
eating I spend time talking to my family and thanking God for the food and the food might even go
on the phone that im usisg to its also unsanitary.
Challenge
Challenge yourself. Make a plan for how you would like to change your habit. Consider when you
will do something different and what you can do instead. (When we're trying to change a habit, it's
not enough just to say what we won't do. We also have to come up with something to do instead!)
In the morning when I wake up, I would start my day by praying to God then eating without using
my phone.
After eating I would talk to my family or might use a discord just to talk with my friends.
At lunch, I would eat properly without using my phone and thanking God for the food.
After lunch I would develop my skills like in the guitar and exercise to be healthy then take a bath.
At dinner time, I will eat also without my phone and just talk with my family and enjoy the food.
After dinner I should do quiet time to reflect and thank God for all the things that I might have took
for granted.

Boost
Boost your challenge. What are some ways you can give your new habit a "boost" and make it easier
to do? If you're trying to break a bad habit, what are some things you can do so that you don't slip
back into old ways?
- I should ask someone in the house to keep an eye on me so that I won’t secretly go back.
- I should stay in a place where people can see me too.
- I should base my determination to God and that I would only fix myself through Him and not me.
Reflection
Time to share. Say something about what you learned for today and how this discussion helped you.
I have learned that I’m using digital media unhealthily and that I use it more than I have to. It helped me
realise that I am unhealthy and that I should use my time wiseley and don’t waste it because life is short. It
also helped me realise that I’m not glorifying God through using digital media and that I would put digital
media over God, im very guilty and I don’t feel very good about that. If I am treating digital media like an
idol, then I think then there is something wrong and I should act fast to stop it. In 1 Corinthians 10:14 it says
“therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.” Apostle Paul was saying the the History of the Israelites and what
they have done wrong, I can realte to this because should flee from it and have a more balanced digital media
life and should not let history repeat itself. Though this is a bold statement and as a human with having a
weak and sinful nature, I will do it by repenting to God first because I depend on Him and I can’t fix my
problems myself but only God can.
