ETAP SIMULATION
1. Perform Transient stability analysis for the below model for the following cases and tabulate
the result for generator
Case1: Fault at 50%of transmission line length (LLL and LG fault) from bus1 & bus 3.
Case2: Fault at 90% of transmission line length (LLL and LG fault) from bus1 & bus 3.
Case3: At Generator terminal (LLL and LG fault)
Case4: At 11kV bus terminal (LLL and LG fault)

2. Find the critical clearing time (CCT), for fault at following locations in the network. And also
tabulate the critical clearing time of the same locations by changing the generator total
Inertia from 2MW-Sec/MVA to 7MW-Sec/MVA insteps of 1MW-Sec/MVA.
• Three phase fault at 90% of the line-2 from bus-3.
• Three phase fault at 50% of the line-2 from bus-3.
• Three phase fault at 10% of the line-2 from bus-3.
• Single line to ground fault at 90% of the line-2 from bus-3.
• Single line to ground fault at 50% of the line-2 from bus-3.
• Single line to ground fault at 10% of the line-2 from bus-3.
• Three phase fault at bus-5.
• Single line to ground fault at bus-5.

Check the behavior of the generator in the aspects of frequency and voltage, after fault is
cleared by tripping of the line-3. Also check the same case with Droop & Isochronous
Governor mode of operation.

3. For the below given system perform load rejection and load addition scenario by opening
and closing the CB1. Model the Generator governor in Isochronous mode and in Droop mode,
study its impact.

3. Simulate the load addition scenario and shed the load, if the frequency drops below 2% using
under frequency relay.
