Chapter 1
Problem And Its Background

Introduction

Most of the people encountered high bill in electricity in the time of

pandemic due to all appliances in household are being use because all of the

people are not allowed to go out in the house due to the restriction of the

government. This project can lessen the electricity bill because it can use to

substitute as a source of electricity for the appliances. Some of the electrical

generators are usually big in size and a problem to store and all of the

generators usually use a source of power such as gasoline or battery, the

researcher makes the generator small for convenient storage and only uses

magnet as a source of power.

According to Studocu (Jane Moraleda, 2015) In recent years, the

Philippine economy continues to boom. Together with this growth is the

increase in supply and demand across sectors. Focusing on the energy sector

of the country, despite conventional energy consumption dropping, the move to

renewable energy sources projects increases in the near future consumption.

The searchers conduct this (Self-Generating Electric Generator) to help and

produce different ways of electricity, based on the research of the researcher’s

3. What is the suggestion or recommendation to the product

Sifnificance of the study

This project can use mostly in emergencies like electrical shortage or

any accident that can cut the electricity and can last up to 8 hours. So, the

researcher conducts an idea to solve this kind of problem even in the short

period of time, which is this product that they called self-generating electric

generator. Some of the generators are using batteries or gas to run, but this

generator only using the law of magnetism which is the primary concept of this

The residence and the barangay administration also be part of this benefits,

because with this research they can provide ideas about this kind of study.

Lastly, are the future researcher who will conduct this kind of study that we are

undertaking

Scope and delimitation

Local Studies

According to Gordon R. Slemon (2018) electric generator, it is also

called dynamo, any machine and motor  that converts mechanical

energy to electricity for transmission and distribution over power lines to

domestic, commercial, and industrial customers. Generators also produce the

electrical power required for automobiles, aircraft, ships, and trains. Electrical

generators are usually big in size and a problem to store and all of the

generators usually use a source of power such as gasoline or battery, the

researcher makes the generator small for convenient storage and only uses

magnet as a source of power.

In most cases, a spinning shaft provides the mechanical power for an

electric generator, which is determined by multiplying the shaft torque by the

rotational, or angular, velocity. There are many ways to generate mechanical

power, including hydraulic turbines at dams or waterfalls, wind turbines, steam

turbines that use the heat from the combustion of fossil fuels or nuclear fission

to produce steam, gas turbines that burn gas inside the turbine, and gasoline

and diesel engines. Depending on the features of the mechanical prime mover,

the generator's design and speed may differ significantly.

Based on the Research above electrical generators are usually big in

size and a problem to store and all of the generators usually use a source of

power such as gasoline or battery, it inspire the researcher to design the

product to be more convenient and not reliable to sources such as gasoline or

battery.

Local Literature

Based on Clean Technical (2016) study the Philippines has overtaken all

other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in terms of

installed wind energy capacity. Considering the fact that Philippines is the fast-

growing country and population in Asia, the expected demand for electricity will

be higher, adding roughly 7,000 megawatts on the next five years. Based on

estimation, around 16 million people are living without electricity. Some of the

residence areas are starting to buy solar panels and batteries that will be used

then. The Philippine government is inclined to reduce the carbon emissions by

70% on the year 2030. When it comes to wind energy capacity, the Philippines

have more operational wind energy capacity of 400 megawatts, much greater

than other ASEAN countries. For the next few years, the country is planning to

further increase its capacity to 1,600 megawatts. The Renewable Energy Law

of 2008 attracted numerous investments from domestic and foreign developers,

which resulted in one of the most notable and well-known benefits of the law,

the largest wind energy project in the nation with 150 megawatts installed,

which will offset about 200,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions nationwide.

It is fact that energy consumption and electricity cost is rising Based on

Clean Technical (2016) and this study conducts on how the energy

consumption and electricity cost may lessen by using Self Generating Electric

Generator.

Foreign Literature

Electromagnetic Analysis concurred (2016) is that a lot of sensors are

powered by batteries or electric lines. However, it is acknowledged that the

industrial waste brought on by battery disposal is a social problem. Additionally,

the weight of the electric wires used to power sensors can be several kilos for a

car or several hundred kilograms for an airplane carrying passengers. Thus, a

lighter electric line might result in weight savings for a vehicle or aircraft. We

conducted a fundamental investigation into the growth of a generating system

combining fluid and powder ferromagnets. Such an electrical generator is

affordable, uses kinetic energy that is naturally present in the environment

where people live, such as shock, vibration, or wave force, and is safe and

maintenance-free. The electrical generator, which significantly contributes to

generation, uses the magnetic field of a permanent magnet and ferromagnetic

powders. It has been investigated how to generate electricity using liquid metal

magnetohydrodynamics and electromagnetic fluids while taking into account the

dynamic behavior of magnetic particles in a magnetic field. However, no

research has been done on the electromagnetic analysis of magnetic particles

in magnetic fields for energy harvesting. In order to study the effectiveness of

the electrical generator utilizing ferromagnetic powders, we did electromagnetic

analysis using a general-purpose finite element modeling tool in this work. By

examining the magnetic flux distribution of the permanent magnet used to

generate power, we were able to evaluate generation efficiency.

According to the study above the electrical generator, which significantly

contributes to generation, uses the magnetic field of a permanent magnet and

ferromagnetic powders. The researcher use also the law of magnetism with the

used of dynamo to generate the input and develop the output needed.

Foreign Studies

According to the study of jamal faraji (2019) Extreme weather conditions

cause electrical network damage, breakdowns, and protracted blackouts.

Therefore, it is crucial to increase the electrical systems' resilience in

emergency scenarios. This research suggests two alternate energy systems for

boosting load resilience during a random blackout using the idea of standby

redundancy. The techno-economic and environmental comparison of two

distinct resilient energy systems is the core contribution of this article. The

second energy system is a grid-connected microgrid made up of photovoltaic

(PV) and battery energy storage (BES) as a standby component. The first

energy system uses a standard traditional generator (TG) as a standby

component to provide electricity during blackouts. Sensitivity analysis are

carried out to find out whether both energy systems can survive the outages. In

order to increase system resilience, the objective function takes into account

the system's established restrictions to minimize overall net present cost (NPC)

and cost of energy (COE). HOMER runs simulations, and the findings

demonstrate that despite both systems having nearly the same resilience

increase, the second system—a grid-connected microgrid—indicates lower

NPC and COE than the first system. In order to further illustrate the strengths

and weaknesses of each resilient energy system, more comparison details are

presented in this article.

(2019), the researcher make sure that the project is resilience to such a

weather condition. The study above shows how to prevent energy blackouts

and such the self-generating electric generator function for such a condition.

Synthesis

According to the article above gathered by the researchers, anything that

creates an electrical output qualifies as a generator. The generated output,

however, may vary based on many different types of generator that may also

employ various processes that produce same or dissimilar products as well as

various output types. A typical generator can be utilizing mechanical, electrical,

chemical, electronics, electromagnetic, or physiological processes as means of

creating different types of electrical energy completed through the use of

different methods. Which can make a simple generator compound.
