1.0 INTRODUCTION

We, Happiness Software Production Sdn. Bhd., are pleased to be given the opportunity to submit
our proposal for creating an online streaming software for TARUMT. Having 10 years of
experience in the creation of software products of several types, we configure, plan and deal with
each undertaking from origination to execution. For example, Adobe Photoshop software (photo
editing software), Winamp media player (video player software), MyPad (text editor software),
and others. In the past, we have been an honorary mention in Microsoft Worldwide Partner
Awards (2020) and currently have 8 branches established in Peninsular Malaysia. In this
proposal, we are including the details of our proposed idea as well as our plan, schedule, staffing,
budget, and authorisation.
2.0 BACKGROUND, PURPOSE, AND PROBLEM
According to our previous conversation with Ms. Margreat, we understand that TARUMT is
planning to use the online streaming software for the lecturers to conduct online teaching and for
the students to do online learning. The primary purpose of this software is to stream learning
sessions to decrease the number of students in the lecture hall so that the lecture hall will not be
overcrowded when the lecture is conducted in hybrid mode. The software can also be used to
record the lecture session as a reference for students in the future. We plan to release the product
by 30 November 2022. The budget allocated will be RM100,000.00. We promise that the
software will be easy to use for new users so that even new lecturers that are unfamiliar with the
software can use it without a problem.
3.0 PLAN AND SCHEDULE
To develop the online streaming software, we propose using the plan below:

3.1 Requirements Gathering and Analysis

We will start doing data gathering from 14th to 17th September 2022 by using fact-gathering
techniques such as questionnaire, interview, and observation.

3.1.1 Questionnaire
We will propose the questionnaire to TARUMT lecturers and students from the date of 14th
September to the 17th of September. The purpose of the questionnaire is to gather data on the
current teaching and learning situation in TARUMT in a quick, efficient, and inexpensive way.
The questionnaire will contain both open-ended and closed-ended questions to gather the data
accurately from the respondent. We will limit the number of respondents to 200 only and provide
the questionnaire online so that the respondents can respond to the questionnaire at any time and
anywhere. Besides, the respondents’ details will remain confidential. In order to boost response
rates, we will offer a small gift, an RM5.00 Google Play voucher, to respondents once they finish
the questionnaire.

3.1.2 Interview
In order to get more detailed information, we will conduct interviews to gather information with
5 TARUMT senior lecturers and 5 TARUMT degree students. We will conduct the physical
interview on the 14th of September at TARUMT. Through the interview section, we can monitor
the reactions physically and get honest responses from the interviewees. Furthermore, we can
also clarify any unambiguous questions to prevent any confusion and inaccurate information to
be collected from interviewees. We will give a pen drive as a reward to the interviewee as a
reward.

3.1.3 Observation
An observation will also be conducted to observe the actual situation of the learning process in
TARUMT. We will go to the TARUMT lecture hall physically to directly observe how the
students and lecturers react and interact rather than only relying on what they are saying. The
observation section will be conducted starting from 14th September to 16th September.

After gathering the data with various techniques stated above, we will start to analyse the data
that we have collected. The existing problems of the current way of doing things and
requirements for the software will be identified throughout the process. We will then do the
analysation of the data on the 18th and 19th of September 2022.

3.2 Design

After completing analysation, we will proceed to do the design on 20th September 2022. We plan
to create a prototype with basic functionalities to let you see what the final product will be like
before developing the actual product. This is done by drawing a simple outline of the software to
get a design that you like. After confirming the design, we will develop the software's basic
functionalities, such as navigating through the software. This is to get feedback from you and
your staff so that we can make changes or improvements before we start the development
process to make sure that the final product meets your requirements.

3.3 Implementation

The development start date will be on 30th September 2022. To develop the software, we will
allocate a project team with a project manager, two senior programmers, and one junior
programmer. Other than that, we plan to use Java as our programming language to build the
software. This is because there are many built-in classes and functions in the library which helps
us save time and reuse the codes we have done before. Then, We will install a server at
TARUMT for data storage and backup purposes.

3.4 Testing

On 30th November 2022, we will do the software testing after all the modules of the program are
integrated to ensure all the modules work properly on the server. We will hire a software tester to
conduct automated and manual testing to ensure the software created by the developers meets the
requirements, and the bugs found will be solved before it gets deployed to the user so they can
have a pleasant experience when using the software.

3.5 Staff Training

For every lecturer and tutor of TARUC to have a better understanding and experience of using
the proposed software, we have provided two ways to assist. First will be documentation, a user
guide that has gathered all the information and procedure for using the software. Other than that,
there will be a tutorial video showing the user how to use the software step-by-step.

3.6 Maintenance

Maintenance for the proposed software will be done semi-annually to ensure the system is
working properly. Furthermore, every updated version of the software will include bug fixes and
new features if there are any.
