India’s micro and small enterprises will come
into effect April 1, 2023, with the annual
guarantee fee for loans up to Rs 1 crore
getting reduced from the peak 2 per cent to 0.37
percent, reducing the overall cost of credit for

 The total balance at the end of FY23 stood at

guarantee for an additional ₹2 lakh crore to

World Bank-funded Animal Health System
Support for One Health to enhance India's
preparedness and response to potential
animal pandemics, in line with the One
Health approach.
 This initiative aims to enhance India's
preparedness and response to animal
pandemics, with a focus on zoonotic
diseases that pose a threat to both animal
and human health. This initiative will help to
improve veterinary services and
infrastructure, disease surveillance
capabilities, early detection and response,
build the capacity of animal health
professionals, and awareness among
farmers through community outreach.
 World Bank-funded project on “Animal
Health System Support for One Health
(AHSSOH)” that aims at creating an
ecosystem for a better animal health
management system using the One Health
approach covering five (05) states in India
was also launched.
 G20 MACS Meeting is going to be held on
17-19 April in Varanasi. The Meeting of
Agricultural Chief Scientists (MACS) will
pursue discussion on food and nutrition
security, resilience to climate change, One
Health approaches, digital agriculture, and
public–private partnerships for research,
education and extension.
 The 12th MACS meeting under India’s
Presidency has identified the theme of
Sustainable Agriculture and Food

this theme, there are four priority areas on
which focused discussion will take place.
 The meeting will feature the MAHARISHI
Initiative i.e., Millets And OtHer Ancient

 The installation is expected to be
completed by March 2024.
 Under Phase II of FAME India, Rs 1,000
crore is allocated for the development of
charging infrastructure.
 With electric two-wheeler (E2W)
manufacturers agreeing to reimburse
consumers for the off-board chargers, the
government is planning to release the
halted subsidy under the Faster Adoption
and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric
Vehicles in India (FAME) II to them.
 Of the Rs 1,110 crore under suspension
since the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI),
Rs 823 crore will be released to four
defaulters — Ather Energy, Ola Electric,
TVS, and Hero MotoCorp’s Vida.
 Ola, which will receive Rs 367 crore, is in
line to get the highest payout from the MHI.
It will be followed by around Rs 275 crore
for Ather. TVS is likely to get Rs 153 crore,
while the subsidy bill to be settled for Hero
MotoCorp will be Rs 28 crore.
 The Centre has slashed the Faster
Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid
&) Electric Vehicles (FAME-II) subsidy of
electric two-wheeler to Rs 10,000 per Kwh
from the existing Rs 15,000 per Kwh. The
existing maximum subsidy cap of 40
percent of the ex-factory price of the
vehicle has also been pruned to 15
percent.
 Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI
Aayog, and the United Nations Capital
Development Fund (UNCDF) jointly
launched a whitepaper aimed at making
Atal Innovation India a global leader in Agri-Tech

total cost of Rs.6003.65 crore from 2023-

‘100 Days 100 Pays’ campaign for banks to
trace and settle the top ‘100 unclaimed
deposits’ of every bank in every district of
the country within ‘100 days.
 This measure is expected to complement the
ongoing efforts and initiatives by the Reserve
Bank to reduce the quantum of unclaimed

has moved a step forward by centralising
