Letter of Motivation for Phd Position

Dear Sir
I am writing this to express my interest in doctoral program in the Department of Chemistry of the
University of Chemistry and Technology Prague.
It has been my long-term ambition to become a student of advanced world university. I am grateful
for completion of my Master’s at Pakistan first ranked university Quaid-e-Azam University
Islamabad. I had the best experience working with the Pakistan most brilliant mind Professors at
Quaid-e-Azam University. Now my desire has turned to international level due to lack of facilities
in research work. As a developing country we have trouble working in the same environment and
with the availabilities of chemicals and facilities available in advanced world. As a MPhil graduate
it's my keen desire to seek a position in advance chemical and environmental institute. It will help
me in completing my PhD from a world class research institute as well as my family and my
country. The reason I choose this sector is world facing serious environmental crisis. No solution
comes upon it's own, it should be brought by continuous effort. Inorganic chemistry has played a
major role in developing quality materials in every field.
My major in Master is analytical/inorganic chemistry with the title of my thesis "Metal based ionic
Liquids for removal of organic pollutants". In my MPhil research I have designed the ionic liquids
and incorporated metal to ensure the better adsorption properties. During this work I have worked
on MS, ATR, NMR and Raman instruments. Now I want to pursue the new ideas and complete
my research at a world best institute. I am eligible in all aspects for this position. Moreover, it will
be my honor to work at highly esteemed institute like University of Chemistry and Technology
Prague. I believe we all have the choice as to whether we fulfil our destiny, but our fate is stuck
down. Hope my fate and destiny coincide in this selection. My ability of management is doing
things right; but as a leader is doing the right things, because for me management is efficacy in
mounting the ladder of success; leadership governs whether the ladder is sloping against the right
wall. I have learned from my sports activities that something productive comes from every
downfall. Looking for a challenge opportunity in a professional setup where I can use my abilities
to contribute significantly to improve the efficiency of the team. I want to be a part of institutes
where I can determine and transfer my skills and knowledge. Together people and used them in
right direction, will be my key tool. However, this is just beginning for me. Despite of this highly
productive work I did start MPhil under highly potential supervisor Prof. Dr. Amir Waseem from
Quaid-i-Azam University, now my wish is to get PhD fellowship at world best organization and
take help of world-renowned professor in completion of this project, which is my dream career
I will prove myself worthy of your standard. Furthermore, University of Chemistry and
Technology Prague will give me an opportunity to use my dual capacity (leadership and
management) to translate vision into reality. I want to do a lot for institute and society where I
worked and for my own society, using my potential capabilities. I have chosen University of
Chemistry and Technology Prague for doing my research because I am enthralled by progress
made by Prague University in the field of technology specifically in Food Chemistry with high
education standard, high world ranking, world class faculty, good infrastructure, proper
laboratories, and equipment.
I deserve to be the part of such institute because as a citizen of the third world country I neither
have access to world class education nor the resources to gain it on my own. I am highly motivated
and hardworking individual, and I am bound to change the current situation of world as we are
facing economic crisis and thus need to develop our skills and knowledge to be able to combat the
situation in order to prosper. Through this position you will be providing a mean of strengthening
friendship between our countries. If I am given a chance, I will put in all the efforts and dedicate
myself wholeheartedly. During my stay at University of Chemistry and Technology I will be able
to contribute in the community in the best way I can. Considering my performance and other
knowledge in the field of chemistry I am convinced that I will be valuable to the Programme. I
hope to be given a chance as I am confident I am capable of meeting the requirements.
