CT Angiography Head w/ + w/o Contrast

Patient: CLARA CHANG DOB: Sep 05, 1984

Final Report

EXAM DESCRIPTION:
CT Angiography Head w/ + w/o Contrast

EXAM DATE:
7/6/2017 12:34 pm

COMPARISON:
CT neck 2/16/17

INDICATION:
32-year-old female with history of intracranial hemorrhage.

TECHNIQUE:
Noncontrast head CT was first performed. During the dynamic
intravenous administration of 100 cc of Omnipaque-350 contrast,
CTA of the circle of Willis was performed for optimization of
arterial opacification without complication.

CONTRAST:
100 cc of Omnipaque-350

RADIATION DOSE:
Total DLP 1861 mGy-cm, CTDI; 92 mGy

FINDINGS:
The right internal carotid artery demonstrates normal course and
caliber without evidence of stenosis or occlusion. There is no
evidence of aneurysm or vascular malformation. The major branch
vessels of the anterior and middle cerebral arteries are seen
without evidence of stenosis or occlusion. There is no evidence
of aneurysm or vascular malformation.

The left internal carotid artery demonstrates normal course and

caliber without evidence of stenosis or occlusion. There is no
evidence of aneurysm or vascular malformation. The major branch
vessels of the anterior and middle cerebral arteries are seen
without evidence of stenosis or occlusion. There is no evidence
of aneurysm or vascular malformation. There is a hypoplastic left
posterior communicating artery

The vertebral arteries are normal in their course and caliber

without evidence of stenosis or occlusion. There is no evidence
of aneurysm or vascular malformation. The posterior inferior
cerebellar arteries are seen bilaterally without evidence of
aneurysm. The basilar artery as well as the posterior cerebral
arteries bilaterally are normal in their caliber and course
without evidence of stenosis or occlusion. There is no evidence
of aneurysm or vascular malformation.

There is right frontal lobe encephalomalacia in the region of

prior hemorrhage. No acute hemorrhage is identified.
Ventricles are otherwise stable in size taking into account of
the right frontal lobe volume loss. Calvarium is intact. Soft
tissues are normal.

IMPRESSION:
1. No abrupt vascular cutoff, aneurysm, or large vascular
malformation intracranially. Please note that CTA is not
sensitive for cavernous malformations.
2. Right frontal lobe encephalomalacia from prior intracranial
hemorrhage. No acute intracranial hemorrhage.
