Give 3 other major scientific and technological developments in the world (or in the
Philippines) that created a large impact on your daily life.

The three major scientific and technological developments in the world that
created a large impact on my daily life are the mobile technology, internet, and
electronic fund transfer. As an undergraduate student, I frequently engaged myself in
technologies especially for my studies and some other life activities. In studying, mobile
technology such as smartphone plays a vital role in developing the quality of education.
Mobile information technologies can free students from the confines of the traditional
classroom and allow them to learn on the go. Students can explore information,
collaborate with peers, record their learning and receive feedback from teachers at any
time and in any place (Ramnath & Kuriakose, 2015). Indeed, the development of this
kind of technology enables ubiquitous learning in formal and informal settings by
decreasing the dependence on fixed locations for work and study, and consequently
change the way we work and learn (Peters, 2007). In regards to the internet, it
established itself as a vital tool for self-study. It helps in learning and discovering various
sources to get the latest information. Students can carry out research on any topic to
improve their knowledge and get necessary study materials, which can be crucial for
their academics. Youtube and other platforms also provide free classes and courses for
students (How the internet is beneficial to students, 2022). Every student's education is
drastically enhanced when mobile technology and the internet are used concurrently.
These technological advancements efficiently help students learn more and make
studying more convenient and hassle-free. We college students have a lot of online
activities that involve transactions, such as checking our bank accounts, making deposits
or withdrawals for school or daily expenses, making purchases online, and working
online jobs that require mobile banking for international transactions, so mobile
banking, also known as electronic fund transfer (EFT), plays a big part in our daily lives .
With a mobile banking app, students can monitor their accounts anytime money is
transferred. If fraud is detected, a user can suspend their account at the click of a button
to prevent further losses (Medrano, 2022). Prior to electronic wallets, monitoring the
status of an account required logging onto an online banking site, going to an ATM, or
visiting a nearby bank branch. Individuals can now log in to their smartphone banking
apps on their phones to monitor the balances and transactions for their checking and
savings accounts. This technology makes the lives of college students more convenient
in financial aspects.
2. What historical antecedents give rise to the inventions you mentioned in the first
question?

Mobile technology(mobile phones)

The history of mobile phones goes back to 1908, when a US patent was issued in
Kentucky for a wireless telephone. Engineers at AT&T created cells for mobile phone
base stations in the 1940s, which led to the creation of mobile phones. In 1973,
Motorola manufactured the first handheld mobile phone for use on the open market in
the USA. The only form of communication accessible before that was radio, sometimes
commonly referred to as "walkie-talkies," though Bell Labs (USA) had created the first
cellular-style communication device in 1947. These early mobile devices are frequently
referred to as zero-generation mobile devices, or 0G mobile devices.

Internet
In the 1970s, Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn created the Internet. As a result of another
research project known as ARPANET, which stands for Advanced Research Projects
Agency Network, they started designing what we now refer to as the "internet." This
was initially intended to be a network of communications for the United States of
America Defense Team that could withstand a nuclear assault. Eventually, it developed
into a productive experimental packet network across the country. The first internet
allegedly started on August 6, 1991, when the World Wide Web opened to the public.

Electronic Fund Transfer(Mobile banking)

Mobile banking was previously conducted primarily through text or SMS before
mobile web services were introduced and made available in 1999. By utilizing the
mobile web via WAP support, European banks were at the forefront of mobile banking
service offerings. Prior to 2010, mobile web and SMS banking were the most widely
used mobile banking services. Mobile banking applications (apps) started to advance as
smartphones with iOS or Android operating systems became more prevalent. Customers
could download banking apps with more advanced user interfaces and enhanced
transactional capabilities to their cellphones. Numerous financial institutions currently
employ SMS and mobile applications to notify clients of potential fraud or to update
them on the status of their accounts.

3. How did the developments in science and technology shape human history?
The impact of science and technology on the advancement of human
perspectives on society, the natural world, and the world at large is immeasurable.
Humanity has developed a wide range of technologies and scientific breakthroughs that
have aided in the creation and advancement of civilizations throughout history, boosted
economic expansion, raised living standards for most people, promoted cultural
advancement, and had a profound influence on thought, religion, and a variety of other
human endeavors. Science and technology have a significant and wide-ranging impact
on contemporary society, having an impact on a variety of fields including politics,
diplomacy, defense, the economy, medicine, transportation, agriculture, the
development of social capital, and many others. Science and technology's products are
found in every aspect of our lives.
