My first day at school

Hello I am Pedro. I am five years old and I am in a primary school. Today is my first day at school.
I’m a little nervous. It is a small school with eight rooms. There are ten teachers including the
physical instructor. There is a headmaster’s office which is separated from the rest of the rooms.
There is a courtyard in the school and a small garden with lawns and flowers.
My head teacher is very gentle. He encourages me and treats me kindly. I feel a bit nervous in the
new environment because I don’t know my classmates and I am a little shy. The boys look at me
with wonder and smile. Today is also my first English class. I am so frightened about that. I don’t
know English but I want to learn.
I can see that my classmates look happy and enthusiastic. Everybody wants to learn new things and
me too of course!
