Abstract

The objective of the work is to develop a cold forged copper-based composite, have improved mechanical and
tribological properties. Developed copper-based nano composite utilized to prepare specimen of variable dimensions
for forging. In addition, the forged composite materials characterized for density, hardness, microstructure, electrical
conductivity, and tribological properties. Improved results of density, hardness, and tribological properties of forged
nano composite observed. Tribological properties investigated through pin-on-disc machine at different loads under
dry sliding condition. The improved wear resistance of both forged and without forged nano composite observed
compared to commercial copper. Improved tribological properties of forged nano composite attributed to work
hardening. SEM and SPM utilized to analyze the worn surfaces to reveal the wear mechanism and its roughness.
