Write an essay discussing only two points. You should explain which point

is more important, giving reasons in support of your answer.

Public transport has always been a hotly debated topic that often divides opinion.
Many argue that it should be made accessible, whereas people on the other side of
the argument believe a small fee should be attached to this service. This essay will
investigate the two points and conclude which one is superior.
Were the governments to make public transport free, people from all levels of society
would have access to it. However, research has revealed that in many cases this led
to unwanted consequences such as vandalization. The problem often stems from the
fact that people tend to treat free service with less respect.
On the other hand, there are individuals who advocate for charging a small amount
which can be directed towards maintaining public transport facilities. There have
been many complaints about the filthiness of bus stops, buses breaking down, and
the lack of network systems available. All of the mentioned problems could be sorted
out by directing the income towards upgrading these services.
Taking into consideration both points, it can clearly be stated that charging a minimal
fee would be a more prudent decision as opposed to making this service free. The
reason for this is that it would benefit citizens in the long run, and it would be
financially manageable for the majority.
