WARNING; OBSERVE HIGH VOLTAGE PRECAUTIONS. SWITCH OFF AND DISCONNECT] MAINS POWER TO THE GENERATOR, AND WAIT A MINIMUM OF 5 MINUTES FOR CAPACITORS TO DISCHARGE BEFORE REMOVING ANY COVERS. WARNING: ALL HIGH VOLTAGE AND X - RADIATION PRECAUTIONS IN THE GENERATOR] SERVICE MANUAL MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES DURING INSTALLATION, ‘SETUP, AND CALIBRATION OF THE AEC BOARD. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE MANY COMPONENTS ON THE AEC BOARD ARE ELECTROSTATICALLY| SENSITIVE, TAKE ALL NORMAL ESD PRECAUTIONS WHEN HANDLING AND INSTALLING THIS BOARD. Switch off the AC line voltage at the main disconnect switch. Allow sufficient time for all capacitors in the generator to discharge. Remove the generator control (top) cover and disconnect the intemal grounding wire Open the flip top panel by first pulling up on the two nylon fastener plungers Refer to figure 2. Next slowly push up on the flip panel while pulling on the metal side-locking plunger until the fip panel is in a vertical position Release the locking plunger ensuring that the fip panel is now locked into position Refer to figure 3 Locate and loosen the generator interface board (using a flat screwdriver or a Smin nut driver) by turning the nylon standoff plunger heads (x8) counter-clockwise % turn Also, remove the E1 grounding screw and washers (next to JB) using a 3 mm hex screwdriver (Some versions uso a Keps Nut for grounding and can be removed with a 6 mm nut driver ) Refer to figure 3 Carefully lift up the generator interface hoard and insert the ribbon cable into the cable trough below. Refer to figure 4. Insert the one end of the flat ribbon cable (observe the connector key — pin 1 is on the left side in conjunction with the red stripe on the cable} into the generator interface board J10 connector. Carefully insert the generator interface board back down and secure the board by turning the nylon standoff plunger heads clockwise % turn. It is important that the E1 grounding fastener and washers be installed back on the generator interface board (do not over tighten) Install the nylon standoffs in the four AEC board-mounting holes on the Control Cabinet assembly. Refer to figure 4 Press the end of the standoff, shown in figure 1, into the holes on the Control Cabinet assembly and then fully press down the plunger head to secure the nylon standoffs Use and disclosure is subject to the restrictions on the title page of this CPI document Indico 100 Installation instruction # 74608700 RevB Page 2 CPI Canada Inc installation instruction 7 10 1" 12 13, Mount the AEC board to the nylon standoffs that were installed in the previous step. The end of the AEC board with the 20-pin connector must be positioned on the left side (pin 1 at the bottom) When the AEC board is properly positioned on the nylon standoffs, tun the head of each plunger approximately % turn clockwise to secure the board. Connect the 20-conductor ribbon cable to the AEC board. Observe orientation of the cable and ensure that the cable assembly is fully seated in both of the two mating connectors (J10 on the generator interface board and the 20-pin connector on the AEC board). Refer to figure 4. Push down on the top of the cable connectors allowing the latches, on the sides of the board connectors, to snap into place Lower the flip pane! while pulling on the metal side-locking plunger (to release) until the flip panel is back inits horizontal position. Secure the ‘lip top panel by pushing down on the two nylon fastener plungers. Figure 4 shows an AEC board mounted and connected to the generator controller assembly, Refer to 740904-05 (section 3C) in the indico Service manual for generator and console setup. VERSION LC-1 ‘CAUTION: MANY COMPONENTS ON THE AEC BOARD ARE ELECTROSTATICALLY| SENSITIVE. TAKE ALL NORMAL ESD PRECAUTIONS WHEN HANDLING AND] INSTALLING THIS BOARD. ‘Switch off the AC line voltage at the main disconnect switch. Allow sufficient time for all capacitors in the generator to discharge Remove the generator contro! top cover and disconnect the cover's internal grounding wire Remove a screw (only on some versions) on the top panel using a 3 mm hex screwdriver. Refer to Figure 5. Placing both hands under the top panel close to each metal standoff, grasp the top panel and pull up quickly. The metal standoffs will pull out from the holes in the top panel. Open flip top panel by pushing it up until the top panel is in a vertical position. Refer to figure 3. Secure the panel so that it will not drop back down, Metat Standofis Soe (Only ops shown) AEC mounting panel tab Bottom plate Cable hole: Figure 5: Location of top plate screw and two metal standoffs Locate and loosen the generator interface board (using a flat screwdriver or a 5 Sfnm nut driver) by turning the nylon standoff plunger heads (x8) counter-clockwise % turn Also, remove the 1 grounding screw and washers (next to J5) using a 3 mm hex screwdriver. Some versions use a Keps Nut for grounding and can be removed with a 6 mm nut driver. Refer to Figure 6 Use and disclosure is subject to the restrictions on the title page of this CPI document.
