According to an Alchemist, Sir Paulo Coelho and I quote, “There is only one thing that

makes a dream impossible to achieve—and that is the fear of failure.” Ladies and gents, today
we gathered in this exact hall to celebrate our bravery to face failure and embody the success our
hearts mostly desired.
To begin with, may I have the honor to extend my respect to the father of this institution,
our ever-dynamic school head, Sir Romeo E. Cabanayan, SIR. Moreso, to the backbone of this
school, the ones we loved and valued whom we consider our second parents, the faculty of
Sumilil National High School, Chers. And of course, to the ones whom we owe our lives and
successes, our driving force and greatest mentors, to the ones we dedicate our academic
perseverance, our Nanays and Tatays-- our Parents, my fellow students, PTA officials, family,
friends and every individual who are here today, Good afternoon and welcome po kayo sa ating
Third Convocation Program and Third General PTA Assembly for school year 2022-2023.
To formally start with our program, let us embody the spirit of Nationalism as we honor
the flag of our beloved motherland and sing through our hearts our national anthem. With this,
may I call on the grade 11 student in the person of Jenevieve A. Operio to lead us the singing of
Lupang Hinirang and shall be followed by an opening prayer to be led by Jeric M. Dorondon,
our YES-O President and the singing of Regional Hymn, Sultan Kudarat March, and
Bagumbayan Hymn respectively. Let us all rise.
I believe that you guys are on the edge of your seats, especially our proud parents and top
achievers to receive your Certificates of Recognition signifying the fruits of your hardships and
tireless trials to achieve your best. Hence, we are not gonna prolong the agony of waiting and
officially open our program. To do so, may I call on stage Mrs. Rose Sharon Casilagan our very
active and ever blooming PTA President to deliver her Welcome Address and Rationale of this
Activity. Let’s give her a round of applause please.
Thank you po Ma’am Casilagan for that uplifting opening remarks and I’d say equally, it
is always our honor to have you in this significant event.
Recognition day is one of the most anticipated days every student can agree upon. It is
the day given where the big convocation of students, teachers, parents and stakeholders alike to
honor the academic achievements assessed and evaluated by the education personnel all
throughout the quarter. To cut to the chase, may I request the PTA president, school head,
Guidance designate and Barangay Officials present to please come up on stage to award the
certificates to our top achievers.
To begin with the rundown of our honorees from Grade 7 to Grade 12, may I call on the
Grade 7 adviser to recognize the top achievers of the class of Grade 7.
Congratulations Grade 7. This time, may we have the class adviser of Grade 8 to award
the certificates of Recognition to the top achievers of Grade 8.
Indeed, the joy and the amount of satisfaction that we felt the moment we received our
honors card is priceless and immeasurable. It is like as if, thousands of butterflies called a
general assembly to fly around your stomach bringing you cloud Nines and rainbows all at once.
Figures of Speech aside, to all the top achievers, we commend you for all the efforts and sweats
you poured in you paper and pencil for the third quarter. And to the non-achievers, do not give
up. Let us take this very day as our motivation to strive hard and perform our maxwell efforts to
be included in the honors list for the incoming 4 th Quarter. To the parents, nga pirti gid ka gwapa
ang mga ngirit sa pagbaton sang certificate sang ila kabataan, congratulations for being held
responsible behind the victory of your children in the scholarly endeavor.
I believe that concludes the first part of our program, at this juncture, let us leap forward
to the second part of this event which is the General PTA Assembly, may I hand in the
microphone to our PTA Secretary, all the way from the Senior High School faculty of Sumilil
National High School, sir Romel M. Crispo to present to us the Minutes and Agenda of our
meeting. Let us welcome Sir Romel with a round of applause.
