Key activities and Our integrated approach of adaptation to climate change was
achievements. conceived and developed, by necessity, to respond to the needs
of previously unaddressed people living in flood-prone areas. It
has been tested, implemented and re-iterated in the field over the
last 20 years. It is accessible to 6.5 million people and includes:
floating hospitals delivering reliable primary and secondary
healthcare services for free; mobile medical teams; community
health workers; easily movable school infrastructures; distance
learning powered by solar energy; flood shelters and cyclone
shelters; community disaster risk reduction and preparedness;
alternative and sustainable livelihood options; etc. These
contribute directly or indirectly to strengthening social,
environmental and economic resilience of rural poor
communities.

Main challenges and how they Since not much prior work or research exist for targeted locations,

our unique 2-decade experience in those locations. Recognizing
that short-term projects cannot address community needs in a
sustainable manner, Friendship takes a long-term inclusive and
