ABSTRACT
This research work is titled An IOT-Based Fire Detection and Alarm Systemusing Flame
Sensor. This work was born from a review of several fire outbreaks that occurred recently in
our locality and can be traced to various causes. It is obvious that fire outbreaks are becoming
alarming in our environment today, claiming lives and properties. Fire detection systems are
installed to discover fire in there early development to enable safe evacuation of occupants. It
also plays a significant role in protecting the safety of emergency response personnel.
Although the fire detection and alarm system using flame sensor have been designed to alert
occupants of impending danger, some of the existing systems are costly and are not
affordable to the average masses, Hence, this project is created based on a simplified and
effective cost, which ensures that the average masses can purchase. Our homes also need a
system that will remotely notify the occupants or neighbors about a fire outbreak at early
stage. The proposed system is capable of detecting early development of fire or flame and
notifies the occupants through the buzzer alarm and the Red LED indicating danger. Using
C++ to write the codes, this system has been tested and confirmed to be working expectedly.
