My academic background, professional endeavors, and life experiences have all played a pivotal role in igniting my passion for urban and regional planning. Graduating with a second- class lower degree in Geography from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, provided me with a solid foundation in understanding the complex dynamics of our built environments. It was during my time working with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) during my internship that I witnessed the transformative power of urban planning in fostering sustainable development and improving the quality of life for communities. These experiences fueled my desire to delve deeper into the field and pursue a graduate degree that would equip me with the necessary knowledge and skills to effect positive change in urban spaces. My Interest in Urban and Regional Planning Issues, the field of urban and regional planning encompasses a multitude of pressing issues, but I find myself particularly drawn to the challenges of promoting equitable access to housing, creating sustainable transportation systems, and fostering vibrant and inclusive communities. I believe that addressing these issues is crucial in building cities that are resilient, environmentally conscious, and socially just. By implementing effective urban planning strategies, we can create communities that enhance the well-being of their residents, promote economic opportunities, and protect our natural environment.
