1. Englishes in this title means people who can speak English around the world.
And language is supposed to be singular because it’s a “device” to express what
you need/should say.
2. I agree that there are different Englishes for the reason that a lot of nationalities
use English for diverse situations. We use some terms like “abuse”, “meeting” etc.
in Ukrainian with the same meaning, so it can be Ukrainian Englishes.
3. Every day English expands in different spheres of our lives, especially in IT,
medicine, and technology.
4. English is a dominant language in Psychology. Almost always I used to search
for some information in English and sometimes it could be in Ukrainian and Latin.
5. Usually I don’t use these phrases but I can explain their meaning. “Get the hang
of it” means to learn the skills that are needed to do (somethings), “to go along
with” means to support an idea, or to agree with someone's opinion, and “getting
at” means to reach or obtain something, especially something that is difficult to
get.
6. In view of the fact that a lot of people around the world can speak English but
are not native speakers it leads to misunderstanding and sometimes it has negative
consequences.
Task 3
Against: by virtue of the Internet, we can talk with a lot of people around the world
and improve our language skills with native speakers; also, on the Internet, we can
find any information we need (books, articles, papers, etc.)
For: on the Internet may be some incorrect dates or information
As far as I am concerned English is a developing language and it is a dominant
language in the modern world.
