RATIONALE:

LESSON PLAN 5
Let's look at the rationale of the activities in the lesson plan:

Pre-lesson
Purpose of pre-lesson: to attract the pupil’s attention.

The teacher shows the picture of a poisonous tree to grab

the pupil’s attention to keep them engaged in the lesson.
The teacher's questions prompt students to share their
thoughts and experiences, which promotes active
involvement, and fosters a welcoming and safe
learning atmosphere.
When the teacher states the learning objectives, students
gain a clear focus and knowledge of what they will learn. This
ensures that both teacher and the students know what to
achieve in the lesson.

Lesson Development
Pupils are asked to identify the themes with examples in the
poem by decorating the bottle to represent the theme
visually.
The pupils are asked to work in groups.
The hands-on activities (decorating the bottle to represent
the theme of the poem) increases cognitive
understanding of the subject material, allowing them
to be creative as well as improving their social skills.
During hands-on activities, students work together and foster
teamwork skills.

The exhibition
Through group activities, students learn how to find solutions
diplomatically, delegate, and work as part of a team.
Moreover, students who are kinesthetic learners best
understand information through tactile representations of
information.
Kinesthetic learners learn best through figuring things out by
hand (i.e. decorating bottles to represent the poem's themes).

Post-lesson
In 21st-century learning, reflection is a significantly required
quality in a critical thinking process.
Asking the pupils to state their moral values at the end of
the lesson aims to encourage them to reflect on what they
have learned from the lesson and experiences.

MULTIMODALITY:
LESSON PLAN 5
Multimod ality incorpora tes a large
variety of audio, visual, and other
symbolic represen tations.

1.Visual
The teacher uses a picture and a
video related to the poem to
introduce the poem 'A Poison Tree'
by William Blake.
Visual aids arouse the interest of
students and help the teachers to
explain the concepts easily.

2. Auditory
The teacher shows a Youtube video of
the poem and explains the summary of
the poem to the students.
Videos are a great way to stimulate
the learning content, and auditory
learners get the sound element
and visuals to help them learn
effectively.

3. Kinesthetic
Pupils are asked to identify the
themes with examples in the poem by
decorating the bottle to represent
the theme visually.
The hands-on activities are
beneficial since some students may
struggle with passive activities like
listening to lectures or watching
demonstrations.
