Floral Crochet Top Pattern

Materials & Tools: Gauge:

• 120 (140, 160, 180) yards of worsted weight • 16 hdc sts per 4”/10cm
yarn. Shown in Lily Sugar 'n Cream (100% • 11 hdc rows per 4”/10cm
cotton, 120 yd/2.50oz) in color Hot Pink (size
M), Sunshine (size XS, see page 2), and White
(size M, see page 6).
• E/3.5mm crochet hook
• Stitch marker

To choose a size, you can go by the bra size WS – Wrong side
(common sizes are listed) or the cup
measurements (measure a bra or bikini top
that has the fit you want).

XS & S: There is a 1” space between the cups.

M & L: The inner cups are sewn up 1-2” from
the bottom.

Halter and back ties are about 14.5”/27cm

long. They stretch out more over time. You can
add more stitches or less to get the desired
length.

Step 1: Ch 3. Yarn over and insert hook in the
3rd ch from the hook and pull up a loop. (This

Step 3: Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops
on the hook. (1 hdc made)
Making the rest of the fhdc: Yarn over and
insert hook under the two loops of the V on
the underside of the previous fhdc and pull up
a loop. Repeat Steps 1-3.
• 2 dc cluster:
Step 1: Yarn over, insert hook into next st, and
pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2
loops. (1 unfinished dc made)
Step 2: Yarn over, insert hook into same st and
pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2
loops. (2 unfinished dc, 3 loops on hook)
Step 3: Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops
on the hook.
• Beginning Flower:
First petal: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc cluster in
same st.
Second petal: Ch 3. 2 dc cluster in the back of
first ch (this ch is the center of the flower). Ch
3, sl st back into the center ch.
Third petal: Ch 3, 2 dc cluster into center ch.
Ch 3, sl st back into center ch.
Fourth petal: Ch 3, 2 dc cluster into center ch.
Ch 3, sl st back into center ch.
Finish first petal: Ch 3, sl st back into same st
as beginning petal's cluster.
• Flower:
Work as for beginning flower except:
Second petal: Ch 3, 2 dc cluster in the back of
first ch (this ch is the center of the flower) and
before doing the final yarn through, insert
hook into the cluster stitch (from front to
back) of the previous flower's fourth petal.
Yarn over and pull through all sts. Ch 3, sl st
back into the center ch.

Cups (Make 2):

Note: At the beginning of the rows, hdc in the first stitch (the same stitch as the beginning chain).
At the end of the rows, hdc into the top of the beginning chain. The beginning chain counts as a
stitch in the stitch count.

R1: Ch 2 and fhdc 6 [8, 10, 12]. 2 hdc in the last fhdc made and put a stitch marker in the middle
hdc. Rotate work to crochet on the bottom of the foundation chain. Hdc 5 [7, 9, 11]. Hdc into the
beg ch 2. Ch 2, turn. 14 (18, 23, 26) sts.

R2: Hdc to the middle marked st and 3 hdc in that st (and keep marking the middle hdc). Hdc to
end. Ch 2, turn. 16 (20, 25, 28) sts.

Crochet 4 (5, 6, 7) more rows back and forth, continuing to mark the middle hdc and increasing in

the marked stitch. 36 (39, 43, 46) sts.

Don't fasten off. Keep the stitch marker in the middle hdc. Now crochet the edging rows according
to your size.

XS – Cup Edging Rows:

R1: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), sk st, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in next st* x6. Ch 1, dc in the
marked hdc st (and you can remove the stitch marker now), ch 1, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in
next st* x6. Ch 1, dc into the last st (the beg ch 2). Ch 3, turn. (7 dc on one side, 3 dc at the top with
no sk sts in between, 7 dc on the other side.)

R2: 2 dc in same st. *Sk 3 sts, 5 dc in next st* x7. Sk 3 sts, 3 dc in last st. (7 shells, 2 half shells at
the beg and end.)

Fasten off. Skip ahead to work on the back ties & connecting the cups.

S – Cup Edging Rows:

R1: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), sk 2 sts, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in next st* x7. Ch 1, dc in the
marked hdc st (and you can remove the stitch marker now), ch 1, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in
next st* x7. Ch 1, dc into the last st (the beg ch 2). Ch 3, turn. (8 dc on one side, 3 dc at the top with
no sk sts in between, 8 dc on the other side.)

R2: 2 dc in same st. *Sk 3 sts, 5 dc in next st* x7. Sk 3 sts, 3 dc in last st. (8 shells, 2 half shells at
the beg and end.)

L – Cup Edging Rows:

R1: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), sk st, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in next st* x11. Ch 1, dc in the
marked hdc st (and you can remove the stitch marker now), ch 1, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in

next st* x11. Ch 1, dc into the last st (the beg ch 2). Ch 3, turn. (12 dc on one side, 3 dc at the top
with no sk sts in between, 12 dc on the other side)

R2: 2 dc in same st. *Sk 3 sts, 5 dc in next st* x7. Sk 3 sts, 3 dc in last st. (12 shells, 2 half shells at
the beg and end.)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail on one of the cups.

Back Ties & Connecting the Cups:

R1 (RS): Starting with the back ties, fsc 58. Don't fasten off.

XS/S: Sc 22 on the bottom of the cup, ch 4, sc 22 on the bottom of the next cup. Place a stitch
marker in the last stitch made on the cup. You will be starting the next row of the band in that
stitch.

M/L: Sc 24 on the bottom of each cup. Make sure the long tail from one of the cups is on the inner
side between the cups and use that tail to stitch the bottom sides of the cups together about 1-2
inches – sew up one half shell & one shell. Place a stitch marker in the last stitch made on the cup.
You will be starting the next row of the band in that stitch.

Make the other side of the back ties, fsc 58.

Fasten off. Turn work to WS to crochet the band.

Band:

XS/S:

R2 (WS): Make a slipknot, insert hook into the marked stitch (the last stitch made in the cup, not
the fsc stitches) and ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), sk st, dc in next st. *ch 1, sk st, dc in next st* x9, ch
1, (ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) into ch 2 sp, *ch 1, sk st, dc in next st* x11. Turn. (24 dc and 23 ch)

R3 (RS): Ch 1, sc in same st as beg ch and each ch/st. Turn. (46 sts)

R4 (WS): Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), sk st, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in next st* x22. Turn. (24
dc and 23 ch)

Skip ahead to work on the floral edging.

M/L:

R2 (WS): Make a slipknot, insert hook into the marked stitch (the last stitch made in the cup, not
the fsc stitches) and ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), sk st, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in next st* x22.
Ch 1, dc in the last st (the beg ch 2). Turn. (24 dc and 24 ch)

R3 (RS): Ch 1, sc in same st as beg ch and each ch/st. Turn. (48 sts)

R4 (WS): Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), sk st, dc in next st. *Ch 1, sk st, dc in next st* x23. Ch 1, dc in
the last st (the beg ch 2). Turn. (25 dc and 24 ch)

XS/S – Floral Edging:

R5 (RS): Beginning Flower in first st, sl st in next 8 sts/ch, *Flower in next st, sl st in next 8
sts/ch, Flower in next ch, sl st in next 8 sts/ch* x2, Flower in top of beg ch 3. (6 flowers)

Fasten off.

M/L – Floral Edging:

R5 (RS): Beginning Flower in first st, sl st in next 9 sts/ch, Flower in next st, sl st in next 9 sts/ch,
Flower in next ch, sl st in next 8 sts/ch, *Flower in next st, sl st in next 9 sts/ch* x2, Flower in top
of beg ch 3. (6 flowers)

Fasten off.

Halter Ties (Make 2):

R1: Fsc 58. Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Sew one on the top center of each cup.

Weave in all the ends.
