About BBKTC
BBKTC is constituted under the South African “Traditional Leadership and Governance Act, 2003,
(Act No. 41 of 2003), led by the Chief, Kgosi Nyalala MJ Pilane as its chairman. The BBKTC is respon-
sible to support royalty by managing affairs of the “Tribe” through the developing, preserving and
protecting interests of the Tribe for the betterment of the community.

The “Tribe” is a forward thinking Batswana community of about 350 000 people residing across 32
villages in the heart of a Bushveld complex in the Moses Kotane Local Municipality (MKLM), North
West Province of South Africa, a region wealthy in vast land, natural beauty and mineral
resources; the harnessing of which has resulted in the development of a vibrant tourism, trade,
agriculture, manufacturing and mining industries.

A developmental agenda of the BBKTC is guided by its “BBK Long-Term Masterplan”, with a vision
to create “a viable and sustainable Morafe”.

The BBK Long-Term Masterplan has been crafted to align priorities and incentives from the South
African “National Development Plan” (NDP), local “Integrated Development Plan”(IDP) and
mining “Social and Labour Plans” (SLP). This creates an environment that is ready for new business
investments, social development and investment partnerships.
