Tools Required
Mixing pail, mixing paddle, electric mixer, water pail, scraper, putty knife, and sponge

A. Substrate Preparation
1. Ensure that new concretes has been damp cured for at least 14 days before the
application.
2. All substrates must be structurally sound, clean and free of dirt, dust, oil, grease, paint,
laitance, efflorescence, sealers, curing compounds, or any material that might inhibit
bonding.
3. Use LATICRETE 3701 Fortified Mortar Bed (LATICRETE 226 Thick Bed Mortar
gauged with LATICRETE 3701 Mortar Admix) or latex underlayment to patch, pitch,
level, plumb, or smooth substrates.
4. Clean and skim-coat existing ceramic tile/stone, cement terrazzo with approximately 3
mm (1/8”) latex thin-set mortar.
5. Dampen hot, dry surfaces.

B. Mixing
1.
Place 8.75 – 9.25 L of water in a clean mixing pail.

3.
Mix for about 3 minutes using an electric mixer to achieve a smooth and
homogeneous plaster. Allow the plaster mix to slake for 5 minutes. Remix again
before commencing application.

C. Main Application
1. Dampen prepared surfaces. Apply a thin layer of the plaster onto the substrate with
a flat trowel (or putty knife), pressing firmly to work into surface. Apply more plaster
to achieve an ideal thickness of 2-3 mm.

When applying in more than one coat, let first coat dry to the touch for about 30
minutes before proceeding with the next coat.

2. Let the plaster cure for at least 24 hours.

D. Protection
Provide protection for newly plastered surface against exposure to rain or other water for a minimum of 3 days.

Special attention should be paid to the following points:

1. Actual mix ratio & field performance will depend on application methods, site conditions, and temperature.
2. All materials used must be fresh and dry to avoid poor performance.
3. All materials used must be kept under shelter.
4. . Make sure that sufficient expansion joints are properly located in stonework. Expansion joints should be placed through the tile,
through the fixing mortar, through the leveling mortar using silicone sealant.
5. Once mixed material starts to harden, DO NOT temper with water. Manually stir or use an electric drill to stir the mix to keep it fluffy.
6. DO NOT add any sand, cement, or aggregates to the mixed materials
