Passage
Smoking and drinking of alcohol are two dangerous habits that some people enjoy. But
neither smoking nor drinking is good for your health. Many people start smoking and drinking
when they are still in school. They think it makes them look grown up. Smoking tobacco is a
habit that is not only dangerous to the smoker, but also affects the rest of the family and those
around him or her. Cigarette smoke contains tar and nicotine. Both substances are poisonous.
Tar is a substance which blocks up the lungs. Lungs can be damaged if the smoke from
cigarette is breathe in.
Smoking cost a lot of money. The money could be used for improving family health. For
every packet of 20 cigarettes, one could buy 12 eggs. As children, we should never start
smoking. It is never easy to give it up once you have started it. We should always advice our
parents and friends who smoke, to stop it.
