SECTION B READING COMPREHENSION (20 marks)

Read the passage below carefully and answer the questions that follow. Each
question worth 2 marks.

Fanny and Ismael have come a long way. These two kids knew they were
brother and sister, as they were living in the same house. Fanny’s father was
the governor of state while her mother was a house wife. Fanny was very kind
but the mother was the contrary. On the other hand, Ismael was the son of
their gate-man who lived in the same compound with his boss, the Governor.
The two kids went to the same school and Ismael was very intelligent. He
would always help Fanny solve her problems. That made Fanny to love him so
much.

One day, the two kids were eating in the parlour when Fanny’s mother came in.
Not happy to see her daughter eating with the gate-man’s son; she shouted
and let the cat out of the bag. The children then discovered that they were not
related by blood, but because of the love they already had for each other, they
decided to seal it. They secretly planned to get married, as they knew Fanny’s
mother will never accept their union. When the Governor’s wife realized that
her daughter continued to be friendly to the gate-man’s son, she took Ismael
and his father and locked them up in the police cell. Fanny when and met the
police commissioner who was a good friend to her father and pleaded on their
behalf and the two were released. The two kids by now twenty and twenty
three got married and left the country.
