- What is the Total pressure at SSD depth in the tubing

at SSD depth 12000 Feet-TVD?

TUBING
g/cc Psi/Ft
1) Gradient = D x 0.433 = PSI/FT

= 0.8 g/cc x 0.433 = 0,3464 PSI/FT

2) HP = 0,3464 PSI/Ft x depth 12000’ = 4156.8 PSI

3) Total pressure = 4156.8 PSI + 150 PSI = 4306.8 PSI

-What is the Total pressure at SSD depth in the Tubing

and in the Casing? SSD depth – 9000 Feet -TVD

TUBING
g/cc Psi/Ft
1- Gradient = D x 0.433 = PSI/FT
= 0.8 g/cc x 0.433 = 0,3464 PSI/FT

2- HP = 0,3464 PSI/Ft x TVD 9000’ = 3117,6 PSI

3- Total ptressure = 3117,6 PSI + 100 PSI = 3217,6 PSI

Casing
Lbs/gl Psi/Ft
1- Gradient = D x 0,.052 = PSI/FT
= 8,6 ppg x 0.052 = 0.4472 PSI/FT

2- HP = 0,4472 PSI/Ft x Profondeur 9000’ = 4024.8 PSI

3- Total pressure = 4024.8 PSI

Differentiall 4024.8 PSI – 3217,6 PSI = 807,2 PSI

-What is the Hydrostatic pressure at 12000 Feet in the

Tubing and in the Casing? And the Total pressure?

Tubing
Lbs/gl Psi/Ft
1- Gradient = D x 0,.052 = PSI/FT
= 6.8 x 0.052 = 0.3536 PSI/FT
2- HP = 0,3536 PSI/Ft x Depth12000’ = 4243.2 PSI

3- Total pressure = 4243.2 PSI + 150 PSI = 4393.2 PSI

Casing
Lbs/gl Psi/Ft
1- Gradient = D x 0,.052 = PSI/FT
= 8.7 x 0.052 = 0.4524 PSI/FT
2- HP = 0,4524 PSI/Ft x Depth12000’ = 5428.8 PSI

. What is the hydrostatic pressure on the top of the

standing valve RB-2 at 13500 Feet – TVD?
And the Total pressure?

TUBING
1) Change ºAPI to SG (Specivity Gravity)
141.5 divided by (131.5 + API) = SG
141.5 : (131.5 + 35) =
141.5 : 166.5 = 0.8498 SG

2) Fluid gradient = SG x 0.433 PSI/FT

0.8498 x 0.433 PSI/FT = 0.3679 PSI/FT

3) HP = 0,3679 PSI/Ft x TVD 13500’ = 4966.6 PSI

4) Total pressure = 4966.6 PSI + 250 PSI = 5216.6 PSI

HOME WORK Nº5

What is the hydrostatic pressure and total pressure at the Baker ‘L’ SSD in the tubing and in the
Casing ?

1) HP in the Tubing: 0.85gr/cc x 0.433 x (10500’ - 600’) = 3644 PSI

2) TP in the Tbg = 3644 PSI + 1500 PSI = 5144 PSI

3) HP in the Csg : 8.5 ppg x 0,052 x 10500’ = 4641 PSI

4) TP in the Csg = 4641 PSI

What is the pressure differential across the Sliding side door ?

5144PSI – 4641 PSI = 503 PSI Tubing Positive

What is the Applied pressure in the tubing ?

1500 PSI

What is the Applied pressure in the annulus ?

-What is the differential pressure between the annulus and

tubing at a circulation device installed at a depth of 8500 ft.
TVD in the tubing string?

HP Gas = (1,064 from table-1) x 500 psi = 32 psi.

(Check Gas correction factors Table on the next slide.)

HP Tbg = 141,5____ = 0.860 SG x 0.433 x (8500 ft – 3000 ft) = 2048psi

131,5 + 33 API

HP Tbg = 2048 psi + 32 psi = 2080 psi

Total Pressure (Tbg) = 2080 psi + applied pressure 500 psi = 2580 psi

HP Csg = 10,3 lbs/gl x 0,052 x 8500 ft = 4553 psi

Total Pressure = 4553 psi

The differential pressure between the annulus and tubing at SSD Depth is:
4553 psi – 2580 psi = 1973 psi (Csg Positive).
