1. Discuss the comparison between Thomasian and Atenean education. In what


particular area did they have similarities and dissimilarities? Explain your answer fully.

- In my opinon about the comparison between Thomasian and Atenean education. We


all know that Thomasian and Atenean education have the same a lots of education that
we can learn and especially sometimes we experience a positive and negatives
experience. I think the dissimilarities of Thomasian and Atenean education is the way of
how they educate the students.

2. What were the achievements of Rizal in UST? Among those achievements then
what was the most achievable? Discuss

- The achievements of Rizal in UST, He finished the 1 st year of a course in Philosophy


and letter (1877-1878) and he also took up surveying course at Ateneo then he was
presented the title on November 25, 1881 for his excellency.

3. Describe Rizal’s involvement with the 3 girls-Segunda Katigbak, Leonor Valenzuela


and Leonor Rivera. Who is your bet among them? Discuss your answer fully. (you can
surf the internet for this particular topic)

- Rizal's sister Olympia was a close friend of Segunda and a student at La Concordia
College, and Rizal went to visit her every week, during which he came to know Segunda
more intimately. Their affection for each other grew deeper with every meeting, one that
began with "love at first sight."

- Among Rizal's long list of ex-lovers is Leonor "Orang" Valenzuela, who met Rizal
when he was still studying a medical course at the esteemed University of Santo
Tomas. Valenzuela was the next-door neighbour of Rizal when he stayed in the house
of Doña Concha Leyva in Intramuros.

- Leonor Rivera, She was intelligent and knew how to play the piano. She was reserved and
soft-spoken, which, according to Rizal are ideal characteristics of a woman. Such was Rizal's
idealization of Leonor that he immortalized her as Maria Clara in his two novels, Noli Me
Tangere and El Filibusterismo
4. Explain why Rizal got low grades in some subjects in his Medical course.

After realizing that his mother was losing her vision, Rizal chose to study ophthalmology
at the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. He was unable to complete the course,
nevertheless, because of political rivals in the faculty and the clergy who required that
he adhere to their ideology.

5. Discuss the distinction of UST today as compared to other universities.

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) is the oldest existing university and until now this
University still the one the famous school in our country even if it's just the same with other
university that have a good and higher education. UST still better than to other university.
