Dropper Ankoosh Back story
● He was an average student
● After Dreaming for IIT since 10th

● Ankoosh was preparing for IIT as
soon as he step foot in class 11th.

● He was balancing his school life

and preparation.

● Performing good in school
while preparing for JEE was
a difficult task.
● Even 12th boards numericals were
tough for him.


● Understanding a basic topic & solving
a difficult numerical had a huge gap.

● After 12th Boards He attempted JEE Main.
● He scored 30% percentile .
● His 12th Board result was 76%

(just passed the JEE Main criteria)
Dropper Ankoosh story
● He decided to take a drop
● Give his focus only for JEE.

● As an average student .
● He had to face many

difficulties during his journey
● He needed to complete the
whole 2 year syllabus in 1 year.

Which meant
● Tight schedule
● Losing contact with friends
● Increased stress level

● His anxiety for future kept on

increasing.

● He felt teachers were less concern

about the droppers
● He needed to work hard on the topics

he left in his 11th & 12th and too in
less time
● He was worried that 11th & 12th

class students have more time to
do the same syllabus; and hence
● Self doubt
● Guilt
● Future tension

They were all eating him up.

Ankoosh Stuck at 30% Marks
● After a month of taking drop.
● Ankoosh was stuck at 30% in mock

test.
● He thought he would never
be able to get more than 30%.

● He reached out to his mentor.
● He started explaining his mental

Mental pressure on Ankoosh
● “How can I compete with those

students who are preparing for
years and have command over
the subjects ?”
● “ Am I wasting my time and

family’s hard earn money ?”
● “How will I manage the fast moving

syllabus in class and cover what I
left in my 11th and 12th ?”
● “I feel like my life is stuck ”

How he managed ?
● After having that heavy talk with

his mentor.
● He was very relaxed.
● He prepared a schedule for

himself.
How he managed ?
● He listed down the chapters &

topics he lacked class wise,
subjects wise and weightage
wise.
How he managed ?
● He then prioritise those subjects who

had highest weightage and focused on
that.
How he managed ?
● Now that he knew what chapters he

needed to cover.
● He also figure out that he doesn’t

need to go in depth of every topic.
How he managed ?
● He just needed to be fast

and focused enough to be
able to solve numericals in
1-2 Minute.
How he managed ?
● Since he had a bitter experience with

offline, he enrolled in an online course.
How he managed ?
● Where he could watch the lecture

video anywhere, anytime he wanted.
● He could now even ask doubts

personally from teachers.
● Solve more mock tests.

Ankoosh Strategy To improve
● After coaching.
● He would take a rest for an hour

(lunch, rest, freshen up).
● He would spend 2-3 hours on revising

what was taught in the class.
● Then take rest for half an hour
● Then spend 2 hours on the topic he

missed (most weightaged) in 11th or
12th.
● He would then work on his

numerical solving speed &
understanding.
● He would keep a timer and note

down the time he took
● How many were right and

wrong.
● He would then work on the topics or

questions he attempted wrong.
● He would watch the videos on these

topics and ask doubt.
● He took classes to cover his JEE syllabus.
● Gave mock papers for his improvement.

● He made 3 type of notebooks.
● One was for class notes.
● Second was for his dpp and mock tests.
● Third was for important topics and formula

(bullet notes)
One Special notebook
● In this notebook he would right down

the
● tips & tricks to solve the numericals,
● special type of numericals &
● doubts chapter wise .

On sundays
● He would go through all he

studied in that week (class &
mock )
● Solve numericals on each
topic to understand where he
is still lacking.
● He would then take a doubt

session with the teacher
online.
By doing all these activities ,he

understood the basic strategy to
crack any exam
You don’t need to cover the whole

syllabus.
You just need to learn how to

accurately solve a numerical in less
time
For chemistry he knew he

needed to memorize, so not
much of the difficulty.
For physics and maths his

strategy was same.
Finally the hard work paid off
1 month before JEE
● He was working on his speed and

accuracy to solve the paper.
● He would also spend time to

memorise the formulas and tricks.
● The judgement day was near (JEE

Main)
