Introduction:

The survey aimed to understand the television viewing habits of teenagers. The objective was to
gather information about the frequency of television consumption, preferred genres, streaming
habits and impact of television on their daily lives. The survey was conducted among a diverse group
of teenagers aged 15-19.

Methodology:

The survey was conducted physically and received a response from a total of 25 teenagers from
various sections .The respondents were asked to provide honest and accurate information regarding
their television viewing habits .The survey consisted of multiple-choice questions and allowed
participants to select options of their own interest.

Key Findings:

Frequency of television viewing:

• 45% of teenagers reported watching television on a daily basis .


• 30% of teenagers watched television several times a week .
• 15% of teenagers watched television once a week.
• 10% of teenagers watched television rarely.

Preferred Genres:

• 55% of teenagers expressed a preference of dramas and series.


• 20% of teenagers enjoyed reality TV shows.
• 15% of teenagers favoured comedy programs .
• 10% of teenagers liked documentaries and educational contents.

Streaming Habits:

• 65% of teenagers stated that they primarily streamed television shows and movies.
• 25% of teenagers mentioned watching television through cables or satellite providers.
• 10% of teenagers relied on DVDs or Blu-ray discs for their television content .

Devices used for viewing:

• Smarts phones and tablets are preferred by 50% of teenagers .


• Laptops or desktop computers are preferred 35% of teenagers .

Time spent on television:

• 40% of teenagers spent 1-2 hours per day watching television .

Conclusion:

The survey revealed that a significant number of teenagers engage in regular television viewing, with
dramas and series being the most popular genre .Streaming services becomes the preferred mode
of television consumption among teenagers ,with smartphones and tablets being the primary
devices used .while television plays a substantial role in our daily lives, the impact varies among
individuals, ranging from relaxation and entertainment to potential distractions. These findings
provides valuable insights into the television viewing habits of teenagers and can aid in
understanding their media preferences and behaviours.
