INTRODUCTION
Our compliments for choosing the SETRONIK2 controller as the controller for
your lift.
Please carefully read this booklet so that you will be able to understand all the
qualities of this device and its potential.

The SETRONIK2 family controllers are microprocessor-controlled controllers

specially designed for the control of 1 Speed, 2 Speeds and Variable Speed,
Hydraulic and Electric Lifts operating in Simplex, Duplex and Triplex operation (up
and/or down collective).
The STK2-PM programmer allows to set a secret Access Code, know the conditions
the lift is operating in, which and how many times failures and malfunctions have
occurred, control the lift and doors motion and modify the operating characteristics of
the lift itself.
Several functions specific to a particular lift can be programmed without having to act
on the Controller wiring.
As far as the operating Diagnostics is concerned, help is provided by the failure and
malfunction indications on the Programmer displays and by the indications supplied
by the board LEDs.

Warning
Since our products are in constant evolution, all information contained in this manual
can be modified by SEA SYSTEMS without notice.

In the case of special lifts, any accessory documentation relating to additional or

modified functions is provided.

2.1 Programmer connection (STK2-PM)

1. Check that the ON\OFF switch of the Keyboard is in the OFF position.
2. Insert the connection cable in connector FC3 on the STK2-B board.
3. Bring the ON\OFF switch in the ON position.
4. All the 7 displays show the number 8 for about 2”: this function is used to check that
all displays are working correctly.
5. After the 2”, the displays show 0.00.XXXX (X indicates any number), or 0.00.0000
with the last four digits flashing. In this second case it means that an access code
has been stored and that it is therefore necessary to enter the digits of the access
code in the last 4 displays (DG3..DG6) and then press .

2.13. Neutral Zone Setting (for floor relevelling)

The following procedure is used to position the magnetic brackets at the various floors
apart from setting the levelling space.
In case the levelling space adjustment is not required, please go on to points 5 and 6.

1. Position the A and B monostable at the ends of the bracket (CFR bracket).
2. Fix the CFR bracket on the car.
3. Check that timer 4.12 is on 0000 (no delay)
4. Adjust the magnetic brackets (MFR brackets) on the landings so that the car
stops aligned with the sill of the various landings when carrying out upward runs.
5. Move the bracket B monostable toward the centre of a length equal to the space
of neutral zone required.
6. Gradually increase the value of timer 4.12 so that, when upward runs are
repeated, the car stops aligned with the floor sill.
The timer value depends on the required speed and levelling space.
7. Move the bracket A monostable toward the centre so that, in coming down to the
landing, the car stops aligned with the sill.

SETRONIK 2 DATE: 28\10\99 REL. 02

4. DUPLEX OPERATION
Duplex operation controls two lifts, named Master and Slave, with the floor bookings
in common. The purpose of this operation is to serve all floor bookings faster than
two lifts in Simplex operation.
The assignment of the floor bookings to one or to the other car is based on the
direction, position, distance, load control, Out of order, … .
4.1. Parameter List in Duplex Operation:

4. Duplex Operation - 27 -
SETRONIK 2 DATE: 28\10\99 REL. 02

4.2. Difference in level between the two lift first stop

(Param. 1 04 xxNN)
Difference in level in Duplex system means the lowest floor stop of one lift is not at
the same level of the lowest floor stop of the other lift.
In this case, this difference must be programmed otherwise there wouldn’t be the
correspondence between the calls.
The parameter 1 04 xxNN is programmed on the lift with more downward floors,
inserting the number of floors with this difference in level; the parameter on the other
lift must be 00.
The choice of the Master control panel is free, but to simplifying the connections, it is
more convenient that the master is the lift with more stops.

4.3. Access Programming (Param. 2.xx.NxNx)

As it is specified at page 12, it’s necessary program, on both control panels and for
all stops, the opening side and how the bookings will be served: Simplex or Multiplex.
Simplex Access:
Are the accesses whose external bookings can be satisfied only by the car with that
access, for instance when a floor is served only by a lift;
Multiplex Access:
Are the accesses whose external bookings can be satisfied by both the cars.

4. Duplex Operation - 28 -
SETRONIK 2 DATE: 28\10\99 REL. 02

4.4. Parking floor Programming

When the stored bookings are satisfied, the duplex operation forecasts the possibility
to park the cars at determined floors named Lower parking floor and Upper parking
floor.
The programming of these floors must be done on the Master control panel
The programming of the lower parking floor on the Slave control panel is necessary
only in Simplex working with Master control panel switch off.
The parking floor return function is activated when both the cars have satisfied all the
existing bookings and it can be delayed by the timer 4 08.
Three situations are forecasted:
1. No Parking floor
Program 1 02 xx00 and 1 04 00xx on the master control panel.
Without bookings the cars park at the floors of the last bookings served.

2. One parking floor

Program 1 02 xxNN (NN= number of the parking floor you want).
At the return condition, the closest car goes to the lower parking floor.
The second car holds the position of the last booking served.

3. Both parking floor

Program the floor positions on the parameters 1 02 and 1 04 of the master
control panel.
At the return condition, the closest car goes to the lower parking floor.
When the lower parking floor is satisfied and there is newly the return condition,
the second car goes to the upper parking floor.
At the end of the return run, the door opening depends on the programming of the
door status in parking (param. 2 xx).
The return run can be erased if any bookings occur during this run.

4.5. Diagnosis
The Duplex operation working status can be diagnosed by the E3 Led placed on the
STK2-B board of the both control panels like it is indicated in the table below:
Duplex operation status according to the E3 Led status of the two lifts
Master E3 Status Slave#1 E3 Status Operation status
Flashing On Fixed Duplex functioning
Off On Fixed Slave#1 in Simplex
On Fixed Off Master in simplex
Off Off All out of service
The E1 Led indicates in flashing mode that the communication with the other control
panel is activated.
