    Lesson- technology Grade 8

    Pylon Designs

    It was Thursday morning; the lesson was going to be a continuation of civil technology for Grade 8. The

    introduction went very well, the learners were very focused and well behaved. I managed to grab their

    attention by asking them questions that stimulated their prior knowledge. The learners responded by

    giving answers and making connections with previous experiences.

    What I learnt from this experience is that the pace should be fair, sometimes I can talk very fast in such a

    way the learners get lost at some point, so for this lesson I had to write down notes on the whiteboard and

    pause a little bit and walk around the learner`s tables so that I don’t leave them behind. I also learnt that

    learners should see my face at all times because once you face the board for an extended time, they start

    misbehaving, laughing, talking to each other.

    What I think I can do better next time is to bring more teaching resources like charts, posters, power point

    slides etc in order to enhance the lesson and increase the chances of fully understanding the concepts

    amongst the learners.
