    Standard Volumes for Bulk Items: Important Ratios:


    1 Metric Tonne (MT) = 1,000 kilograms (kg)
    Item m3 per 1 MT 1 litre of fluids = 1 kilogram
    Vegetable oils in tin 1.7 m 3
    20' container = 38.5 m3
    Flour, rice, sugar 1.5 m3 Add 30% for accommdate passageways and ventilation
    Grain, pulses, beans 2.0 m3
    Canned Products 1.5 m3
    Milk Powder (in tins) 3.0 m3 Example:
    Tents 5.0 m 3

    How many square meters (m2) of storage are needed for 100
    Blankets (pressed bales) 5.0 m3
    metric tonnes (MT) of vegetable oil (in tins)? Assume a storage
    Clothing 10.0 m3 height of 2 meters.
    Hygiene Kits 5.0 m3
    Kitchen Sets 4.5 m3
    Jerrycans (folding) 7.95 m3 Goods Area: (1.7 * 100) / 2 = 85 m 2
    Tarpaulins 5.0 m 3
    Area Needed: 85 m2 + 30% = 110 m2
    Mosquito Nets 3.0 m3
