Lesson 5: Counting strategies
 Example (1) :
- Step (1): Draw 2 wheels in each group.
- Step (2) : - Skip count to find how many wheels in all
- Skip count by 2s until you say 4 numbers
 Number of equal groups: 1 2 3 4

2, 4, 6, 8
 There are 4 Groups with 2 Wheels in each group.
 So, there are 8 Wheels in all.

* Use the picture skip count to find how many wheels in all :

- 4 Groups of 2
- 4 twos
- Skip count by 2s 2 , 4 , 6 , 8
- So they are 8 Wheels in all
 Another example (2) :

- Lina, Dima, Alma each have 5 candies. How many candies do they

have in all?

- How many candies does each person have?

- How many equal groups of candies are there?

- Draw 5 candies in each group.

 So :
- There are 3 groups

of 5 candies

- There are 3 Fives 5 5 5

-
5 10 15
- Skip count to find how many candies ……. , ……. , …….

 So they have 15 Candies in all
