Plato had the sharpest foresight when he discussed in the Symposium that
beauty, the object of any love, truly progresses. As one moves through life, one
locates better, more beautiful objects of desire. One can never be totally content with
what is just before him. Human beings are drawn toward what is good and ultimately,
beautiful.

Let’s Work On This

Essay: In 50 – 100 words write your thoughts about the questions asked.
1. If you were an artist, what kind of artist would you be?
Answer: If I were an artist, I think I am a craft artist. As a craft artist I will use
recyclable materials in creating my artwork. I think it will help our nature and
surroundings to lessen the trash that we use and produce in our everyday life.
Instead of throwing it, I will turn it into something useful. Adding creativity to the
things that we already use can make a big difference. Also by being a craft artist, I
can express my own creativity in creating something from my imagination as well as
helping our nature to reduce and lessen the trash that I and my family produces in
our everyday living.
2. Why is art not nature?
Answer: Art is not nature because it is God’s creation. When we say art it is
something that made from our imagination, feelings, thoughts and ideas. While
nature is not made by people. It is really existing or natural in this world. We only find
inspiration in the nature in order to come up with an art. Its like if we see in the
nature or in our surrounding it give us such motivation to make an art.
3. Why is art ageless and timeless?
Answer: Art is ageless and timeless because no matter how old the art is, if people
see its beauty or appreciate it, that art feels like its new. Just like with what I
experienced when I went inside the National Museum, we know that most of all the
arts being displayed were old. They are not new, the artist who made those art may
already not exist. But seeing those different kinds of artworks, for me, its like those
arts were fresh and new. So that’s why I think art is ageless and timeless. No matter

how old a person is, if he or she can appreciate and find beauty with the art that he
or she sees.
4. Why art involve experience?
Answer: Art involve experience because from our experience we can use it as an
inspiration or motivation to create an art. With what we experience we can use it as
an idea and express it in the form of art. For example, when we feel sad, it became
as an inspiration, and the art that we produce also show our sadness. Another
example is Moira de la torre, her experienced in love was reflected in her recent
music. So I can say that art involves our experience because it helps and guide us in
formulating our own art and craft.
