Key Principles of Learning Organization

An organization is a place group of individuals who work collectively and

pursue the same goals. The company organization aims to coordinate human efforts and
integrate each other to accomplish the defined goals and objectives. Building a great
company organization is inseparable from how learning organization properly. Being
active to creating, capturing, transferring, mobilizing, and modifying are principles key
to the learning organization.

There are five building blocks to use as a foundation for developing a learning
organization, such as systematic problem-solving, experimentation, learning from
experience, learning from others, and knowledge transfers. Learning organizations will
be successful for the company if these principles keys applied through distinct mindsets,
support systems, and processes (Bridges, 2019). We will discuss five blocks in detail
down below.

1. Systematic Problem-solving

Problem-solving is a fundamental part of every manager's role. Being

capable and confident in solving problems is an important thing to
successful managers. Systematic problem-solving designs help managers
being able to identify problems, generate possible solutions, evaluate
alternatives, decide on solutions, implement the solutions, and evaluate
the outcome.

2. Experimentation

Experimentation helps managers to explore and test new knowledge. The

experimentation system involves transferring knowledge and yielding
new insights, capabilities, tools, techniques, and processes.
Experimentation aims for managers to create hypotheses for occurring
problems and analyze them to determine the best strategies for simply
solving problems.
3. Learning from Experience

Learning from experience helps managers to contemplate their past

experiences and re-learn them. Learning from experiences aims to
identify important things to consider from past actions related to current
situations. This action helps managers to avoid spending time attempting
to seek answers and unproductive actions to solve their problems.
Learning from experiences is able to create a budget-case study with a
lower cost and help companies not to waste their company budgets.

4. Learning from Others

Learning from others is a learning method that uses the experiences of

others as a reference. This helps managers save time and energy to solve
problems without unnecessary actions. Managers are able to combine
their perspectives with other perspectives as a consideration to solving
company problems. Learning from others also provides an idea for
increasing creativity that helps managers to develop different strategies.

5. Knowledge Transfer

Knowledge transfer is a practical method to share information, abilities,

and ideas from one part of the company to another. Knowledge transfer
helps managers to encourage innovation and boost efficiency.
Knowledge transfer can be a bridge between employees and managers to
work collaboratively. Exchanging information between employees and
managers is a better option than relying on data which does not accurate
occasionally.

In my opinion, learning from experience method is the most important to

practice first in the company organization. Learning from experience aims to prevent
managers from repeating the same mistakes and making blunder decisions. Learning
from experiences helps managers handle problems more wisely due to managers have
been making wrong decisions in the past. Thus, managers are able to consider their
experiences as a barometer to determine necessary actions to solve current problem
situations. For example, Boeing Company successfully build the 747 and 7675 models
through trial and error in their launches in Boeing's history. Boeing Company has failed
with its previous airplane models, such as the 737 and 7575 models. Boeing Company
implemented the learning-from-experience method perfectly. They analyzed and
evaluated the erroneous in their previous models (Carpenter, Bauer, & Erdogan, 2010).
Thus, learning-from-experience methods are highly recommended to managers as
fundamental principles and provide long-term period benefits for the company.
