Grammar focus——过去进行时
定义：
用来表述一个过去特定的时刻或某一阶段正在进行，发生的事情
构成：

常用时间状语：
eg. A. this time yesterday;
at 10 o’clock last night

B. 由 when, while, as 的时间状语从句
一般过去时和过去进行时可在一个复合句中同时使用。延续性动作用过去进行时，相对短暂的动作则用
一般过去时。如果两个动作同时进行，两个分句都可以用过去进行时
例：

2. What was he doing when the UFO arrived?
3. The girl was shopping when she saw the alien get out.
