PAST SIMPLE TENSE (QUÁ KHỨ ĐƠN)

I. Cách dùng
Thì quá khứ đơn dùng để nói về hành động đã xảy ra trong quá khứ, sự việc đã chấm dứt
trong quá khứ, kết quả không còn liên quan tới hiện tại.
Nhìn chung, nếu đó là câu kể lại thì ta sẽ dùng thì quá khứ.
Ex: I graduated from Bristol university 2 years ago.

II. Công thức

(+) S + Vqkđ + O
Vqkđ có 2 dạng: - bất quy tắc (tra bảng động từ BQT cột 2)
- có quy tắc (thêm -ed)
Tips: Nếu tra bảng không thấy có động từ đó thì ta sẽ thêm -ed.
Ex: I ___got__ (get) up early this morning.
Ex: She __talked___(talk) to her child a few hours ago.

1. I __________(come) home a few minutes ago.
2. They __________(cook) Japanese food for me.
3. You __________(forget) to lock the door yesterday..
4. My father ___________(repair) the water pipes.
5. I ____________(read) an interesting book last week.

Ex: We didn’t attend the ceremony.

Bài 2. Chia động từ ở thì quá khứ đơn

1. The dog _______(not eat) its food. It ______(be) sick.
2. Bob ________(break) my vase.
3. That _________(not be) my fault. I _________(not do) that.
4. We _______(watch) a romantic film.
5. They ________(not turn) off the lights after they ______(leave).

Ex: Did you receive the package? ; Did the candidate arrive?
- Yes, I did. - No, she didn’t
- Ở trên là câu hỏi YES/NO, nếu có từ để hỏi ta sẽ để ở đầu câu:
+ What did you eat this morning? + How did you get there?
Bài 3. Chia động từ ở thì quá khứ đơn
1. Where _______you______(put) the keys? - I _______(put) it on the table.
2. ______you________(go) to concert last night? - No. I ________(go) to the movies.
3. I _________(wash) the dishes then I ______(clean) the kitchen.
4. ______he_______(tell) you? - He ______(tell) me about the change in the policy.
5. She _____________(not answer) the hardest question.

III. Dấu hiệu

- Yesterday (hôm qua) - This morning (sáng nay) - in + năm (đã qua)
- Thời gian + ago - Last + thời gian
Lưu ý:
- Ta dùng last với thời gian ngay trước đó: last week, last month, last year
- Ta dùng ago với 2 đơn vị thời gian trở lên: 2 weeks ago, 3 months ago, 5 years ago.
