ACTIVITY:

CREATE YOUR IDEAL COMMUNITY

Define your ideal community and its characteristics. Include pictures of places or
establishments you wanted to have in your community. Explain why it is ideal to you
and state the functions of each places and the benefits the people of the community can
get out of each place or establishment.

I wanted our community to have, among other things, a good and enjoyable event
community. I wasn't implying that our community is dull; rather, I wanted to share
awareness about some other entertaining activities like swimming competitions, gay
basketball, tree-planting ceremonies, color runs, and outdoor movies. Basketball and
volleyball tournaments are quite common in the community. Yes, it will cost a lot of
funds, but at least people will realize and, at the same time, discover and experience
something new about this unique event. Second, an active charity initiative—while I did
not include it in my drawing, the community must be active to do this type of obligation
because it is a better way of contributing back to the people in society, such as by
conducting outreach programs such as medical missions, feeding programs, job hiring
programs, fund-raising events, and many more that may help the community improve.
Finally, a strong sense of duty, respect, and protection are required. Every community
member must perform their duties with respect and responsibility or encourage our local
residents to volunteer to clean the streets, parks, playgrounds, and other
establishments. Furthermore, providing a sense of security by installing streetlights,

patrolling barangay tanods, and surveillance cameras for everyone's protection.

Therefore, in order to improve the community for everyone, it is up to us as individuals
to put our decision into practice because progress is within reach.

HOMEWORK:

Observe the community/barangay where you belong and be able to identify at least 3
pressing issues and concerns you believe needs an immediate action. Suggest what
needs to be done to eradicate and/or alleviate the effects of the problem.

I believe that the first issue and concern that requires immediate attention in our barrio is
the installation of several security cameras and lamps. Even while some locals have their
own transportation, some prefer walking alone, the roads are dark since there is not
enough, or, to put it another way, no budget to purchase streetlights and surveillance
cameras for protection. Even though our town has a low crime rate, the safety of all
residents, young and old, is crucial in a community. The second concern and issue is
road construction, which is beneficial to some but unsafe to other people like me because
it is frequently neglected or never completed. Yes, it's difficult labor, but accidents do
happen on the road. Walking can lead someone to stumble or fall, just like a car accident
caused by a bumpy road. What's more disturbing is that there is a budget for road
improvements, but no street or CCTV cameras are provided. Additionally, each
subdivision lacks a fence or wall. So any trespasser, or "dayo" as we called them, can
enter our subdivision. As a result our neighbors got robbed their belongings, including
money, gadgets, food, and other items.

In conclusion, the things that must be eradicated or alleviated in order to address our
never-ending community problems is to have a budget, money, or resources. in order to
finish the road construction completely, buy a new and good quality of equipments such
as streetlights and security cameras, and concrete wall buildings for subdivision in order
to make our community better and safer.
