TECH START-UP COMPETITION

About Tech Start-Up Competition / Pitch Competition:


A pitch competition is a type of entrepreneurial event where
participants present their Tech business ideas or Start-Up concepts
to a panel of judges or investors in a short and concise format. The
primary goal of a pitch competition is to showcase innovative ideas
and persuade the judges or investors to invest in or support the
presented ventures.

OBJECTIVES of Tech Start-up Competition:


1. Promote Entrepreneurship: Encourage and inspire students to pursue
entrepreneurship as a viable career option. Motivate students to think
creatively and take risks in their professional pursuits.
2. Foster Innovation: Provide a platform for students to showcase their
innovative ideas and solutions to real-world problems.
3. Enhance Problem-Solving Skills: Encourage participants to identify
challenges and develop innovative solutions. The competition fosters
critical thinking, problem-solving, and resourcefulness among students.
4. Encourage Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Bring together students from
different disciplines (e.g., computer science, business, engineering) to form
diverse teams and work collaboratively on innovative projects.
5. Showcase Student Talent: Provide a platform for students to showcase their
skills, talents, and creativity to a wider audience, including potential
investors and industry professionals.
6. Cultivate Leadership and Communication Skills: Through pitching their ideas
and presenting to judges, participants develop leadership and
communication skills.
7. Create a Sense of Achievement: Recognize and reward the efforts of
students, which can boost their confidence and self-esteem.

 HOW TO DO ?
a. Students may form a group of maximum 5 members otherwise or may
pitch their own ideas individually
b. Students can prepare a short presentation for their Tech Start-Up
models
c. Time Allocation: - 10 minutes (max)
d. Total Evaluation Points: 100
e. The activity will be held in your respective classes
f. Judges will evaluate student’s tech idea’s
g. Two groups from each class with the best idea will be declared as winner
h. Whenever there will be next Techno tuner club activity the selected
winners will be given an opportunity to pitch/present their ideas in the
Auditorium along with Science Exhibition

Theme of Tech Start-Up / Pitch Competition


Students will pitch their creative tech start-up ideas (Ideas should be related to
technological fields ONLY)
Technological fields are as mentioned below but not limited,
1. Edtech
2. Health-Tech
3. Fintech
4. Biotech
5. Agro-tech
6. E-Commerce
7. Entertainment
8. Sports
9. Environment
10. Transportations/Automobile
11. Any other field like above fields related to tech will be
acceptable

Briefly explain the purpose and objectives of your Start-


Up.
Format of the Pitch:
Problem Statement: Clearly state the problem or
challenge that your startup aims to address.

Solution:
Present your innovative solution and explain how it
addresses the problem effectively.

Value Proposition: Describe the unique value your


startup brings to the market and why it stands out from
competitors.

Market Analysis: Provide insights into the target


market, its size, and potential opportunities for growth.
Business Model: Explain your revenue model and how
your startup plans to generate profits.

Team: Introduce the members of your team and their


roles in the startup.

Milestones: Highlight key milestones achieved so far


and future goals.

Funding Requirements: Clearly state the funding


amount needed and how it will be utilized.

Conclusion: Summarize the main points of your pitch


and reiterate why your startup deserves support.

Pitch Rules:

1. Each participant will have 10 minutes to present their


pitch.
2. A timer will be displayed to track the time.
3. Q&A session will follow each pitch, during which the
judges may ask questions.

Judging Criteria:
Evaluation of Pitch Competition will be done by a Panel
of Judge. Total Evaluation Points will be 100.

3. Clarity and Coherence of the Pitch – 15M
4. Feasibility of the Business Model – 15M
5. Impact and Scalability – 10 M
6. Team Capability and Experience – 10M
7. Uniqueness – 10M

Prizes:

Note: All participants are encouraged to be concise and
compelling in their presentations. Avoid excessive
technical jargon and focus on communicating the
essence of your startup idea.
