Integrated skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing with basic sentence structures and
everyday expressions, vocabulary and short passages, basic communication skills in varieties
of situations for daily life.

10. Course Learning Outcomes:

Main Material: Hendra, Leslie Anne, et al. Evolve (B1) Cambridge University Press.
The textbook costs 380 baht. The photocopied version or the old textbook is not acceptable.
• Bangkok Campus: The book is available at Room B204, Faculty of Applied Arts, Building
46.
• Prachinburi Campus: The book is available on the 4th floor of Sirindhorn Building.
* Students can buy the books on weekdays from 8.30 – 16.00. The books will be sold until

14. Hi! How are you? – Individual work


This activity aims to improve students’ writing skills.
Step 1: Each student write email to a relative in another country (supposed to have one).
Step 2: Each student has to use 4 required grammar points: Information questions, Indirect
questions, Present Perfect with ever, never, for, or since, and Present Perfect with already or
yet.
Step 3: Submit the first draft between week 6 and 7
Step 4: Each student writes a) self-introduction, b) ask questions about people, and c)
something s/he wants or is interested using at least 150 words and attach their writing with
related photos then submits it to the teacher between week 7 and 8.

15. Do you like Felix? – Pair work


This activity focuses on the use of Present Perfect and pronunciation in speaking. In order to
complete this assignment, students must follow the following steps.
Step1: A pair of student has to listen to a Podcast interview, page 18.
Step2: Each student a) chooses whether they like or dislike Felix and provides reasons. b)
recap the situation or what’s happening in the interview. c) tell us what you get from the
Podcast. Present Perfect with ever, never, for, or since, and Present Perfect with already or
yet must be used, and sounds /w/ and /t/ must be pronounced clearly.
Step 3: Each student submits the script on week 8.
Step 4: Take turn and present in front of the class. Each student has to speak at least 1 minute
on week 11.

Note: Students who read their scripts get 0 points for the “Language”, “Details and
information” and the “Pronunciation” parts.

16. I have things to tell you. – Group work (Productive) (CLO 2, 5, 6)


Not only does this activity focus on the use of learned grammatical topics in speaking, but
this activity also aims at promoting 21st Century Skills, collaboration and communication
among students. In order to complete this assignment, students must follow the following
steps:
Step 1: Students in groups of 5-6 sit in front of the class like they’re going to take turn telling
stories around campfire.
Step 2: Each group choose one topic from a) lost&found things, b) needing&giving help, or
c) surprising situations stories to share with their friends. The learned grammatical points
must be used in both script and speaking.
Step 3: Submit script on week 11 - 12
Step 4: Do the story-telling in front of the class. Each student has to speak at least 1 minute
on week 14-15.

Note: Students who read their scripts get 0 points for the “Language”, “Details and
information” and the “Pronunciation” parts. In addition, please include Past Simple/Past
Continuous sentences for topic A and B (lost&found things and needing&giving help). For
topic C, surprising situations, please include Zero and First conditionals sentences.
