(i) Teachers’ ethical convictions in supporting learners

In light of the Corona virus, teachers are responsible for assisting students in accepting and adapting to
the virus's implications. Teachers must create conditions that mirror the ethical and accepted practices
in the society that brings people together. Respect, kindness, and equality are examples of ethical
conditions. By practicing personal values such as honesty and fairness, they will aid in the restoration of
humanity in learners. The four basic values at the heart of teaching are dignity, truthfulness, fairness,
and responsibility and freedom.

 Respect, recognize and uphold the worth and dignity of students.

 Teachers accept and treat students as individuals.

 Teachers respect students' rights and respond to them in a humane and equitable
manner.

 Human subjects must be treated as autonomous individuals capable of making

responsible decisions.

 Respect for people entails at least two ethical convictions: (1) that individuals should
be treated as autonomous agents, and (2) that people with limited autonomy are
entitled to protection.

As a result, the principle of respect for persons is divided into two distinct moral requirements:

(1) The requirement to recognize autonomy and

(2) The requirement to protect those with diminished autonomy.

As a result of this principle, informed voluntary consent is required.

 Beneficence / Safety - An ethical teacher's top responsibility is ensuring the safety of their
children, thus it's safe to say that it's one of the ethical convictions that a teacher should have
during this time of great epidemic. Persons are treated ethically not only by respecting their
decisions and protecting them from harm, but also by attempting to ensure their well-being.
Beneficence is the principle that governs such treatment. The term "beneficence" is frequently
used to refer to acts of kindness or charity that go beyond the scope of strict obligation.

As complementary expressions of beneficent actions in this sense, two general rules have been
developed:

(1) Do not harm and

(2) Maximize possible benefits while minimizing possible harms.

Subjects must be kept safe and their well-being must be ensured. This principle implies that the
benefits to subjects or to humanity as a whole must be judged to outweigh the risks to subjects.
 Justice - requires that the risks and benefits of research be distributed fairly, without creating
disparities in treatment between ethnic, racial, religious, sexual, or age-defined groups. This
principle necessitates that researchers take care not to exploit special groups of people who are
less able to refuse participation in research, such as prisoners, mental patients, and children.

(ii) Teachers’ knowledge

Covid -19 have interfered with learning processes leading to few numbers of teachers who are going to
further their education to become more experience in their careers. The definition of teacher
knowledge, was defined as the educator must be sufficiently knowledgeable in their subject matter in
order to be able to teach effectively and respond to the questions the learner will pose, and should be
able to answer to the learner’s full satisfaction.

 Content Knowledge - understanding of the concepts, theories, laws, principles, history, classic
problems, and explanatory frameworks that organize and connect the domain's major ideas

 General Pedagogical Knowledge - understanding how to moderate discussions, create group

projects, organize materials for student use, use texts and media, and so on

 Pedagogical content knowledge - knowledge of how students understand the subject matter,
what natural phenomena theories they hold, and how these differ from scientific explanations
knowledge of the types of ideas appropriate for learners of various ages to explore * knowledge
of ideas that are prerequisites for students' * understanding of target concepts knowledge of
how to select representations, analogies, and activities that help learners conceptualize science
ideas and so forth

 Disciplinary knowledge - understanding the goals of scientific inquiry • knowledge of domain-

specific methods of investigation • knowledge of the nature of relationships between scientific
models and data • knowledge of evidence and argument standards held in various fields of
science, etc.

As teachers, we must recognize that providing a secure environment for students not only aids them in
dealing with personal concerns, but also gives professionalism, which is critical.

(iii) Teachers’ working relationships within and beyond the classroom

Covid -19 have also reduced the working relationship of teachers within and beyond classroom because
of restricted movements. Parents, instructors, and students should all have mutual relationships.

 Teachers and school staff - Research on teachers who take on leadership roles and have more
opportunities for professional relationships shows that these teachers benefit, but there is little
evidence that they can provide much support or benefit to other teachers. Educating new
teachers in the field should prioritize the development of interpersonal relationships between
new teachers and their mentor teachers.

 Teachers and Parents - Caring parents and teachers who work together can boost the
effectiveness of educational and social interventions. When parents and teachers have positive
relationships, the resources of the home and school contexts are amplified, increasing the
likelihood of positive outcomes for children.
 Teachers and the community - To meet the diverse needs of our public school students,
community services and service providers are frequently linked to the children's school
experience. To address and fulfill their students' needs, teachers may collaborate with social
workers, family counselors, local health care providers, and others.

(i) Challenges you encountered and possible solutions to those challenges.

BPT1501 examines the characteristics of an effective teacher and raises awareness of their importance
to students. Some of the difficulties associated with BPT1501 are as follows:

 Time management and organization- The module necessitates a significant amount of online
time and attention. Again, the reluctance that comes with online learning, as well as the lack of
the pressure of waking up for classes. To address these challenges, I would set deadlines for my
module so that I could complete all of the course requirements.

 Computer literacy- Learning the module was difficult due to a lack of knowledge of computer
skills. I had to push myself to learn new and innovative ways to present my work in order to
overcome this challenge.

(ii) How BPT1501 benefited you

BPT1501 was, in my opinion, a very relevant and educational course. The topics covered have been
diverse, and they have compelled me to consider the realities of a career in education. This module has
been extremely beneficial to my teaching career, in my opinion. The volume of work and depth of the
material were manageable and the first written assignment was quite challenging. BPT1501 was
beneficial to me because the module is similar to a toolkit, and completing the module provides me with
skills that allow me to gather tools to use as a teacher.

The volume of work and the depth of the material were manageable, but the first written assignment
was quite difficult. BPT1501 was beneficial to me because it is similar to a toolkit, and completing the
module provides me with skills that allow me to gather tools to use as a teacher. I also had a lot of fun
creating a brochure for a fictitious school, and I appreciate the creativity, enthusiasm, and imagination
that assignment required.

The least enjoyable aspect of the course was the discussions. I found it difficult to communicate
effectively on the discussion board because there were so many students writing in no particular order.
This course has shown me that teachers have far more responsibilities than I previously imagined, and it
has piqued my interest in a career in the classroom. Learning about the roles of a teacher as a
professional, knowledge worker, resource innovator, and community member has provided me with a
thorough understanding of what the job entails.

I believe I now have a more realistic and mature approach to teaching. Assessing myself using the
criteria outlined in this course for a good educator has increased my confidence in my ability to be an
enthusiastic and inspiring teacher.
(iii) Advices to someone intending to do BPT1501

I would advise that someone attend the module because it provides:

 more effective knowledge, resulting in

 more targeted instruction and

 Successful learning experiences.

3. Of the six BPT1501 assignments which was the easiest to approach and why?
The easiest assignment to me was 04, (The Learning Strategies)

In this assignment I found that it was easy for me to understand it. I think that for me I could connect
and the moment you connect to something it creates a type of curiosity in you and you want to learn
more. It becomes interesting to you. Because I felt that I could relate to this and experienced it before I
found it to be very educational. More Section B though.

Doing a lot of research and watching YouTube videos I could understand the assignment more clearly.
Apart from the fact that this assignment was easy, it was also motivating and interesting to me. I have
learnt so much through all the research I have done. It has inspired me to put in so much more effort to
make the lives of our children easier through all the amazing educational systems we have that makes
learning possible and fun for these learners.

Looking back at the time when I was still a student I now realize how much effort my teachers had put
into different strategies just to make me and other learners understand what was being taught to us.
This knowledge made me realize just how much I now appreciate my teachers not just as teachers, but
as woman and men, taking the time to invest in our futures, by helping us understand and making
learning easy and fun for us.

When a learner finds an assignment to be interesting , easy and fun, they will indeed accomplish
achievement in learning.
